With Easter coming up fast, I thought I would share 6 easy ways to create a Spring/Easter centerpiece that will make your Easter table pop this year!
We are not planning a big Easter celebration again this spring. We are scheduled for our second Covid vaccine on April 8th so we will follow the rules and stay home. Because of that, the only meal we will eat at an actual table this Easter will be breakfast in the kitchen. That is where I will be concentrating my efforts to spruce up my Easter settings. Dinner will be informal most likely in the family room watching yet another movie! But creating a pretty spring table will most definitely cheer me up!
A Little Bit of Green Goes a Long Way
My first option is to simply add a little bit of green to the table. Green automatically makes you think of spring and from there it’s an easy jump into Easter. I used a pretty little fern that I bought just recently but a faux plant would work just as well. Once you have the springtime feel from the green, a few little seasonal additions are all you will need for a perfect Easter centerpiece.
Since, my breakfast table is quite small, I arranged my pieces on an Easter pedestal that I’ve had for years. The height makes it a little more interesting and allows a bit more space for breakfast staples. A pretty little bunny and a rustic tea light holder and I’m there. Who says you can’t have candlelight for breakfast???
Check the Fridge
Next, I thought maybe flowers would brighten up the day. I found a cute little hydrangea at the supermarket. Since it is only in a standard black pot, that just won’t do for an Easter centerpiece! Searching the fridge I remembered I had a napa cabbage. Digging out the center, the little pot will fit perfectly. I tied some pink twine around the center of the cabbage to help hold it’s shape and added a pretty bow to dress it up.
Of course everything looks better with a bunny!
Carrots Anyone?
Also having carrots on hand, there is another way I can go. Leaving the stalks in place, they bring a little greenery to any setting as well. I washed them, wired the stalks together, and placed them in a vase of water. The end result looks very much like a weeping willow tree! All it needs is Peter Rabbit and his carrot sign!
Spring Colors on the table
The soft pastels of the spring season add so much to an Easter centerpiece. Perhaps the prettiest this time of year are the wide variety of pinks you see everywhere. Flowers, whether faux or real can be a stunning enough centerpiece on their own. You can make it a little more attractive still without breaking the bank. Look around you and pull from your spring decor. A pretty candle or a bunny will do the trick. Even something as simple as seasonal salt and pepper shakers add so much.
Easter Eggs and Printables
An Easter centerpiece can be as simple as putting some pretty colored eggs in a bowl and adding a few accents. I no longer do baskets since my kids are grown. Therefore, the pretty grasses that I filled them with no longer exist in my craft bin. But adding some eggs to a bed of parsley will do just fine.

Make it Sweet
My final option is by far the sweetest! Although for me, planning out a breakfast table, you might think there is no place for chocolate! I beg to differ! With all the pretty foil wrappings on any number of candy offerings, this could be a great Easter centerpiece. I just happen to have the perfect candy dish on hand as well!
This little moss purse will hold pansies in a few weeks but for the moment…
Oh wait… you don’t have a moss covered purse laying around??? Really??? Well, that’s ok I guess. The chocolates look just as pretty in the traditional candy bowl too!
Which one is your favorite? I’m leaning towards the cabbage. But then on the other hand…chocolate! It’s a tough decision but…

Very cute, all of these, but I love the natural use of the cabbage and carrots! That pedestal is really adorable. I always look at figural, dimensional ceramics and think how hard they are to store without chipping! Happy Easter week to you, Denise. I’m not sure if we’ll be gathering, as one of my husband’s siblings is gravely ill. This past year has really tried its best to test us all.
Thank you Rita. I have the original packaging for my Easter pedestal otherwise I’m sure it would be a mess! I am so sorry that your Easter gathering may be put on hold! I know that was such a bright spot coming right up. I hope you find a way to get together soon. I think seeing family is the reset button we all need to push to finally put 2020 in the rearview mirror. I hope you have a beautiful Easter and I’m sending prayers to you and your family.
Our daughter, son-in-law, and grandson live in Denver and have shared their sadness with us from the terrible event in Boulder. Hearts everywhere go out to the families who lost their loved ones and we all know our country so desperately needs to heal and learn to care and love one another no matter of their race, religion, or other beliefs. Your thoughts of Boulder are just as we last viewed it there while visiting our Denver family.
You are so right Arleen! I’m just not sure what it will take for this country to finally get there. I’m glad you’ve seen Boulder in a different light from your visits here. We all know that it can happen anywhere but I’m sure your daughter and her family felt the same shock and despair with the first news reports as we did. Boulder is a beautiful place but more importantly, it is a strong community. They have come together almost nightly to help each other cope. I know they have a steady stream of prayers coming from all around the country too!
So cute and fun. Love the bunnies . The carrots look amazing in the vase. Using cabbage is also a great vessel for flowers. Happy Easter to you.
