With the coffee bar being the first stop of the day, a springtime refresh is a must. To accomplish that, I needed a little help. I decided it was time to bring in the bunnies!
I give my coffee bar a refresh for every season. After all, that’s a big part of having one in the first place. I mean, let’s be honest, I could easily put the coffee maker on the counter as my husband suggested. (My apologies! He has no vision when it comes to these things!)
So years ago I convinced him that we absolutely needed a coffee bar. It allows us to have a place to stop each morning with everything right where it needs to be. Coffee, cups, creamers, sweeteners, all in one place. Eventually, while he came to appreciate the convenience of it all, he never really embraced my need to change things up.
Coffee Bar or…
The bar has evolved over time into a vital part of my seasonal decor. For the most part, with each new change, my husband simply shakes his head as the coffee brews. However, this year’s design brought a stronger reaction. “Coffee bar huh? Gotta have a coffee bar! So much more convenient! Is there anything even remotely coffee related here?” That was a rhetorical question mumbled under his breath. He didn’t seriously expect an answer.
I however, had every intention of explaining, once again, the merits of the coffee bar. I just decided I’d wait until that first cup was consumed. With patience never being my strong suit, I couldn’t resist pointing a few things out nonetheless.
Hippity, Hoppity
I started by explaining that the bunnies took over the refresh this year. They had just gone through a long cold winter in the storage room. Celebrating their release with a fun spring market seemed appropriate. I did hang the sign above the shelf but then I simply let them go to town.
Just look at those faces! Seriously, who could tell them no? Certainly not me! (I wonder what he’d say if I hung their portraits in our room for the season?) It’s a thought!
They chose Daisy Mae to be their mascot for the season. She’s pretty cute right? They also took care of the rest of the signage they needed. To finish off the shelf or perhaps because they overheard our conversation, they added a bird’s nest in (of all things) a coffee cup! Boom!
Tiered Tray Decor
When I gave them the tiered tray which normally holds cups, they went a different route. They added a display of the flowers they sell at the market along with some pretty spring greenery.
They also thought this was a great place for thumper to park his delivery vehicle. Oh look! Thumper Jr. is waiting in the basket to help with the next delivery.
It appears to be the place that Peter, Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail like to hang out as well.
I went on to explain that everything needed for a great cup of coffee was still there despite the bunnies moving in. Well, no, it’s not right on top of the bar itself like it was last week. Yes, you do need to bend down a bit and open the cabinet door. But exercise is a good thing right???
Sweet Tooth Anyone?
Besides… they brought candy! They added jelly beans to the lamp, marshmallows to their favorite glass canister, and cute little Peeps!
I added the final touch, a pretty spring teapot I just finished. You will find the brief tutorial here.
All in all, I think they did a beautiful job, don’t you? It was a smart decision to leave the springtime coffee bar refresh to the rabbits this year!
PIN FOR LATER
I’m convinced that if left to my husband, it would look more like this!
Much better than having to bend down and open the cabinet right??? Like I said… no vision!

Thanks so much Kristin! I just have so much fun with the coffee bar each season. I think a big part of the fun though is how annoying it is to my husband! Ok that’s bad but it really is a bonus!
