Aromatherapy for stress relief

Have you ever noticed how easily scents can change your mood? The sense of smell is widely considered the most powerful sense we humans possess. The dogs really have nothing on us! The scent of a certain flower can bring back memories long forgotten. Sauce simmering on the stovetop can trigger hunger. The scent of pine can transport us into the future with anticipation of the coming holidays. Realizing this, Essential Oil diffusers have become a must have in every household. As a result, Aromatherapy is finally getting the kudos it has long deserved.

Aromatherapy -The Oils that help heal the mind

Essential Oils are used to heal the body in so many ways and now it has become clear that they have a big impact on healing the mind as well. Therefore, diffusing the right essential oil blend can be so important in helping to relieve stress especially during these trying times.

There are so many different oils with so many different purposes. However, if your goal is to create an atmosphere of calm, Lavender and Bergamot are a must.

Lavender

Lavender is the oil that immediately springs to mind when your goal is to create a calming atmosphere. Used for years in soaps and lotions to calm irritated skin, the scent of lavender is now found in almost every stress relief recipe.

Bergamot

When looking for a great pick me up scent, Bergamot is the go to. It is a component in several perfumes and skin care products. More importantly, studies have shown it to help relieve feelings of anxiety and depression as well.
