A Full Year of Tiered Tray Design Ideas

Tiered Trays are the ultimate home decor purchase if you decorate for the seasons or holidays. If you haven’t given in yet and purchased one of your own, it’s time to add it to your Christmas list. Let me show you just how versatile they are with a full year of tiered tray design ideas.

Although we’re not quite ready yet, downsizing our home is always on my mind. My intent is to only keep the things that can move from one season to the next. My tiered trays will be the first thing I pack to take with me.

Today I’m sharing a full year of the decorated trays I’ve done in my home. Here we go!

Winter

First let me just say, I am not a cold weather person! That statement becomes even more apparent to me every year. However, my winter decorations are among my all time favorites. There is something so calming about the neutrals that come out this time of year.

I’m never ready to say goodbye to the cocoa bar in January so I take out the red and keep it in place through the month. I also tend to use quite a few of the printables you’ll find in the Library. You’ll see several in my year of tiered tray design ideas.

Valentines Day

Although the cocoa is put away by now, coffee is a constant. The tray on the bar gets a love refresh for the month of February.

I start to get a little antsy for spring around this time so I bring in a few green plants to my main tiered tray.

Spring

Spring! It’s time to bring in the bunnies and I always do! A spring tiered tray design is always such fun to put together. For one thing, who can resist a bunny on a bicycle? More than that, however, is just the feeling of renewal that comes with the season.

The excitement when the first little plant breaks through the snow is reflected here.

Easter Holiday

Tiered trays can be so much more than just a decoration. For Easter last year, this candy tray was a big hit with the little ones.

Summer

For the summer months, the kitchen is filled with lemons and blueberries. It’s amazing how many adorable decorations there are that mesh with that theme!

My second tray really brightened things up on the coffee bar for the season.

I added a mini weight scale to balance out the varying heights used here. I just loved the look!

Last year, as part of the “By the Sea Blog Tour,” I used my tray to bring in the beauty of the ocean.

Fourth of July

My husband always laughs at the lables on my home decor bins. Oh there are the normal ones of course. Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. There are also specific holiday boxes, Valentines Day, St. Paddy’s, a plethora of Christmas, and the Patriotic Holidays. Along with those are the ones that are marked quite clearly to me but seem ridiculous to those who don’t understand my system.

For instance… Sea Things. I find it extremely self explanatory. It’s simply a box full of my favorite oceany treasures.

Another, Maybe/Maybe Not contains items that I’m not sure will make the cut when I do my next Goodwill run.

The one I needed to put the finishing touches on my Fourth of July tray, was labeled All Things Red. That bin is a treasure trove of red items that can be used for Valentines, the Fourth, and of course, Christmas. Full of candles, dishes, linens, and misc. items that have multi uses. Laugh if you want dear Hubby! This post will be read by hundreds of people that have their own versions of a Sea Things box!

On to the Fourth!

Autumn

Autumn trays are always so pretty! The colors of the season are such fun to work with! This fall I was really able to get creative. My wooden tray is so much larger than the wire one that I started off the year with.

I did use it one last time for an early September tiered tray design with apples.

The new tray gave me plenty of room for so many of my favorite fall elements.

With it’s Lazy Susan base, I took the time to make sure all sides were equally as pretty.

I really liked the added height that the weight scale brought to my summer coffee bar tray so I kept it in place for fall too. I replaced the lemons with pumpkins and it brought such a burst of color to the bar.

Well there you have it. A year of tiered tray decor ideas. Oh… WAIT! I almost let you leave without seeing the best one yet!

Christmas 2022

My Christmas tiered tray design this year is full of peppermint accents.

And of course there are signs!

Greenery and a cute little house with a candle inside finished it off.

I’m so happy with the way it turned out!

Front and back, it’s exactly what I envisioned.

I will be sharing the Hot Chocolate Bar in an upcoming post. In the meantime, here’s a peek at my second tiered tray that will sit on the bar through the season.

  1. Oh, WOW! Look at all those trays!! Let’s see, they all look nice but my favs would be the bunnies, plants, and pink bike. I LOVE the beach one, of course. The patriotic ones grab my attention too! Thanks so much for linking up at the Unlimited Link Party 93. Shared.
