Amazon Prime Day is almost here! I, for one, cannot wait. I will be shopping for birthdays, Christmas, and so many things I’ve put off buying waiting for this day. For those who somehow made it through 2020 without a Prime membership, let me explain how this all works.
What is Amazon Prime Day?
It’s a sale! A big, wonderful, sale that you don’t want to miss. Thousands and thousands of items will be offered at a huge discount for the span of 48 hours. As a Prime member, you will have early access and exclusive offers leading up to Prime Day that you’ll love! If you don’t have a membership yet, you can sign up for a free trial membership right now. Simply click on the start your free 30-day trial ad below!
What’s Included in a Prime Membership
Our membership saw us through the shut downs of last year and I’ll always be grateful for that. Although for most of us, life has returned to some version of normal again, I still find my membership invaluable. It includes so many things that I absolutely love and I thought I would let Amazon tell you all about it. The link below will show you exactly what you can expect.
Prime BenefitsWhat Does a Prime Membership Cost?
At this time, a Prime membership is $12.99 per month or $119.00 per year plus applicable taxes. When your free 30-day trial ends you can cancel, pay monthly with a card attached to your account, or pay up front for the year.
For qualifying customers in select U.S. government assistance programs such as holders of the EBT card, Prime is just $5.99 a month!
Amazon also offers a membership program for higher education students which is an awesome gift in and of itself. Right now, a Prime Student Membership is an annual fee of $59.00 plus tax with a 4-year maximum.
Amazon Student MembershipHow I Use My Membership
For the last 5 years, I have taken full advantage of my membership in so many ways. The shipping benefits alone have made it worth it. With Katie living out of state, I save a fortune ordering from Amazon and having things shipped directly to her.
Prime Video is the free streaming service that’s included and I use it often. There are additional channels with a cost but I can always seem to find a free movie I’ve wanted to see.
Prime Reading is another great benefit. It’s almost like having your own private library!
We also love Whole Food Market and getting a 5% discount when I pay with my Amazon Visa Card is fantastic! The delivery service was priceless to me during the pandemic.
Audible discounts are yet another benefit we appreciate so much. We use audible on road trips to listen to a book that we didn’t find the time to actually read. I put my favorite podcast on while I’m doing yard work. It makes a great gift as well!
Why I Love being a Amazon Associate
All in all, I am thrilled with all the benefits my Prime Membership provides. It was because of this that I became an Amazon Associate. Selling products that I truly believe in is such an easy thing to do. You will find my disclosure at the bottom of this page as I will receive a commission on certain products sold through my links. It is such a fun way for me to cover the costs of running my blog!
I often hear the argument that Amazon is too big and we should be supporting small businesses. The thing is… so much of Amazon is made up of small business owners who use the platform to build their brand. Amazon is offering a $10.00 credit to be used on Prime Day with a $10.00 purchase from a small business through June 20th.
