As spring bursts into bloom, it’s only natural to want to inject a little bit of that springtime vibe inside our homes. Today I’m sharing a few tips that will help to bring that feeling of renewal to your favorite gathering spaces.
Every season adds a host of words to our daily vocabulary. With the appearance of summer, the words sunny, balmy, and lazy spring to mind. Autumn is often preceded by such descriptions as colorful, cozy, and crisp. Winter includes an abundant use of snowy, frosty, and glistening. But spring… its all about fresh, warm, and vibrant. Those are the words we all try to bring to life in our decorating efforts each year.

A Fresh Start
Seasonal decorating for me is a chance to look at each room as a blank canvas. It’s right there… just waiting for me to paint a brand new masterpiece! For spring, I will be dipping my brush into a great, big, bucket of green. The color itself will bring the word “fresh” to the forefront.
Baskets of any shape or size play a big part in my spring decor. They provide an easy way to add a touch of spring to a normally overlooked corner of the room. A few vines placed in a basket with some seasonal elements works perfectly.,
Likewise, a pretty plant, real or faux, will make a dark corner a little bit brighter.
I always try to use baskets with different shapes and textures to make it more interesting. I’ve linked several of my favorites below.
Warmer Days Ahead
An easy way to bring the warmth into focus is by using fabrics and textures with seasonal flair. Spring tells us longer, warmer, days are on their way.
Although the bulky winter throws are no longer necessary, replacing them with a lighter version keeps the look but with a nod to the new season.
Changing out the winter white covers of your throw pillows in favor of a lighter, whimsical, style works as well.

Vibrant Elements of the Season
Spring breathes new life to all living things. Vibrant blooms burst from the ground after laying dormant all winter. Likewise, the birds begin returning from their winter sabbatical and the bunnies resurface in search of the emerging spring grasses. While I don’t expect you to bring these precious little creatures inside, they do deserve some sort of representation I think!
I mean honestly, they are just the cutest little things, aren’t they????
I haven’t seen the chubby little rabbits on my table for sale anywhere for quite awhile. I so love them! However, I’ve found several new ones that I would love to add to my collection.
Mix Together Fresh, Warm, and Vibrant for a Gorgeous Spring Mantel
A mantel is always a focal point in any room and mine is no exception. The fireplace itself provides the warmth so I’ve concentrated my efforts towards the “”fresh and vibrant” aspect of the season.
Birds, bunnies, and a few blooms along with an abundance of greenery will accomplish the look I’m going for.
Depending on the size of the mantel, choose three or four anchors to work with. Mine is quite small so 3 works perfectly here. The main focal point is a vintage rabbit in a distressed white frame. If you are a subscriber, you can find this handsome bunny in the Printable Library. Layering the greenery with picks of a different style brings depth to the overall look.
From there, I built out each side with different elements of the season. A mossy pot of white blooms provides an anchor for the left side.
A lantern full of bunnies brings the right side into the mix.
The finished mantel is the very essence of all I love about this season!
Springtime Art
When we first decided to give Arizona a try, I heard from several people saying they would love seeing what I did with Western Art. The truth is, I’ve never really liked it and I don’t see that changing any time soon. Perhaps it will grow on me in time, but at the moment, I intend to continue celebrating each season as it comes.
For spring, I have always been drawn to lush landscapes. Trees, flowers, and an ample amount of green and blue in a range of shades always draws me in. I pulled out the above canvas of aspen trees with its lovely mountain background and thought it would be perfect in the narrow space above the fireplace. It reminds me so much of home!
I also needed something to hide the ugly black tv screen that dominates my living room. While I couldn’t bring myself to purchase one of the new frame tv’s that are all the rage, I also loathe the black screen when I’m not watching. A simple search on the You Tube app for “framed spring tv art” brought me this little guy!
My final challenge was the wall behind the couch. It needed something and with all the pieces I have, I could find nothing that really worked here. I’ve always liked to use canvas prints since they are light enough for me to hang by myself but I wanted a framed piece as its a main focal point in the room. Browsing online, this one jumped out at me. It’s such a peaceful scene!

I loved the barn, the burst of blue, and the distressed frame. The description touted how easy it was to hang and with a single click… it was on my wall two days later. They were not exaggerating… it is the lightest, easiest, picture to hang that I’ve ever owned!
The room came together exactly as I’d hoped. No matter how hot it gets outside my door in the coming weeks, inside it is the very essence of spring!
