Printables make such a great, inexpensive, gift for friends and neighbors this season. What could be better than a free printable? Well, free printables with a matching gift tags of course!
Last summer, I decided to share a few gift tags that I made for the Fourth of July. The printables themselves made such great hostess gifts for summer BBQ’s. I loved having a matching tag to give the gift a little upgrade.
When fall and Halloween, rolled around I was asked by so many to do the same thing for Halloween parties and autumn get togethers.
So I thought of course, we need matching tags for Christmas! Well, here they are! I put them together on three different printable sheets. As subscribers, simply click here to go to the Library. I rarely feel the need to wrap a framed printable. The frame itself serves as wrapping. However, here are a few simple ways to give it a personal touch and make it shine!
Add a Pretty Bow
I have given prints from the North Pole Series to several friends already this season. Since they are seasonal, these are gifts I want them to have well before Christmas. That way, they can use them in their own holiday decor. I put them in pretty frames and added the matching gift tag. They were pretty enough but I am never one to let well enough alone!
A bow of any kind is such a pretty addition. I do try to coordinate the ribbon I use with the print itself for a richer look. You can even hang on a candy cane along with your tag. That seemed perfect for the North Pole Candy Cottage print!
I also try to make sure that the frame enhances the print as well. I felt a black frame for this copy of Merry and Bright would be too dark, a white a little over-powering, but a simple silver frame worked wonders.
Dress It Up With An Ornament
Hanging a pretty little ornament with a ribbon gives your gift an immediate upgrade as well. If your gift is being given to a close friend, then by all means tailoring the ornament to fit their style is a must. However, if the gift is to be a hostess gift to an acquaintance, I tend to choose an ornament that matches the style of the print itself.
All is Calm is of course a line in one of my favorite Christmas songs, Silent Night. The background is done in the ever popular farmhouse style. It is simple, neutral, and a bit muted in color. For this post, I used burlap ribbon and a rustic bell. If the recipient was a dear friend that I knew shared my holiday beliefs, I might have attached an angel instead.
This pretty coastal print will be making its way to my daughter’s San Diego home. Since her tree reflects her love of the ocean, I chose an ornament in the same theme.
Add a Seasonal Staple
The North Pole Cocoa Cabin is one of my favorites this year. I made a copy for a neighbor who has a Hot Chocolate Bar like mine. To make it just a little cuter, I added a candy stir stick with double sided tape to the frame.
This one makes a great gift for the “pet people” in your life. I always make sure to attach a canine Christmas cookie or a catnip mouse as a finishing touch. So appreciated by humans and pets alike!
I hope you’ll put these gift tags to good use this season for family and friends. If you’re looking for more ideas and little ways to help others, be sure to check out my latest post, Great Ideas for the Season of Giving.
