Creating a Springtime Coffee Bar

With winter on its way out,  I thought I needed a refresh for the coffee/ hot chocolate bar. I am convinced I will no longer be needing hot cocoa to keep me warm! What’s that old saying? The one about hope springs eternal? I have lived in Colorado long enough to know that although we have 70’s in the forecast this week, a foot of snow may be right around the corner! But… I am feeling optimistic so I’m going ahead with my plans!  Putting together a springtime coffee bar is exactly what I need to welcome the new season to my kitchen!

Seasonal Accents

Normally my cups are stored on the tiered tray I keep on the bar.   However, in honor of the new season ahead, I couldn’t resist using the tray to hold some seasonal accents instead.

I found the adorable little spring houses at my favorite store so aptly named My Favorite Things. Just FYI… they do ship! I could spend hours here and I’ve yet to walk out without a bag.

Springtime Coffee Bar Cups on a Farmhouse Shelf

Still needing a place for cups though, I hung a little farmhouse shelf above the bar.  Bunny mugs are perfect here. A country kitchen sign and a cute little wooden plant work too!

Farmers’ Market Vibes

One of my favorite things to do during the spring and summer seasons is to visit the farmers’ markets around town.  It will be awhile before the markets ramp up here but I am excited knowing they are coming. Last year they opened the season virtually. Although it was convenient, it’s just such fun to be outdoors browsing through the vendor booths.  I actually bought my farmers’ market sign there years ago and I still love it.

Fillable Lamp Decor

My fillable lamp changes many times through the year.  This is one of those “must haves” for a seasonal home. With very little effort, it becomes a new decoration each season. Until I fill it with lemons this summer, this little bunny will do!   He’s the perfect addition to my springtime coffee bar.

Sign for the Season

Next to the bunny, I will add a sign for the season. I am not going to point this out to my husband right now. He has such fun telling me how silly he thinks my signs are. He’s still laughing at the big wooden sign that says “hello” on our mantel. “Do we just motion friends at our door to follow us to the family room and then point to the sign?” – or – “Are we playing Charades tonight?” No… I will not show him the little sign for Cottontail’s Cafe. No need to give him anymore ammunition. It’s small enough that it can go unnoticed for weeks!

Balance the Bar

A few more accents will finish this little spring project! A metal coffee cup is the perfect addition above the bar.

A farmhouse tin sign with a buffalo check bow serves to balance out the overall look. It’s also a morning reminder to me to start my day off right.

Create the Look

I’m happy with my springtime coffee bar refresh. It is such a central part of the kitchen and so much fun to decorate each season! Be sure to visit the Create the Look page for more ideas and links to create your own spring bar.

I’m glad you stopped by today and I hope you will visit again soon. I will be adding spring touches throughout the house in the weeks to come. 1. Your coffee bar is so adorable! And I love the story about the signs! I wanted to hang one in our dining area, but my husband didn’t think something like that was necessary. So I waited a couple years and then hung one up. I don’t know if he thought about it or not, but he’s never said a word!

He never thinks they are necessary either and teases me endlessly about them. I’m glad you hung yours too! I think they add so much. Thank you again and I hope you have a wonderful week!
