Decorating a Ladder for Spring

Here we go again! It’s time to take apart the ladder I had decorated for winter and start over again. I need a springtime vibe! Bunnies, Birds, and pink! Decorating a ladder for spring is always such fun! I love this time of year!

Because I love a seasonal home, I have filled it with so many decorating elements that can easily change with the weather. One of my favorites is a simple wooden ladder. Adding a blanket, a wreath, and a few seasonal accents can make such a pretty decoration for your home. It is truly one of the most versatile elements I have.

Last year’s ladder was one of my favorites. It held a pretty pink throw, a wreath, and a basket of bunnies! Who doesn’t love a basket of bunnies????

Add a Springtime Wreath

As much as I loved it, I decided to switch it up a bit for the upcoming spring season. I wanted to use the wreath from last year’s ladder for my kitchen door this time. It is really bigger than I needed for the ladder but it’s perfect for my back door! That meant that I needed a replacement. Digging through my craft bins, I found a fillable chicken wire wreath that I have never used before. Having quite a bit of loose boxwood, I tucked it into the wreath, added a pretty pink bow and a birds nest. I tied it to the top of the ladder with twine and it fits perfectly.

Bunnies, Bunnies, Bunnies

Although bunnies are an Easter favorite of course, to me they are just a wonderful symbol of spring. I think maybe that is because they turn my front yard into baby bunny central in the spring months!

Because I love them so much, they will be a part of my spring decor long after Easter is over. I found these cute little bunnies at Hobby Lobby last year and I saw them there again the other day. I thought they would look adorable on the ladder and they do!

Birds of Spring

Another wonderful symbol of spring is simply for the birds! I will be hanging my hummingbird feeder out in just a few short weeks and I am already seeing the birds of spring returning almost daily. It’s such fun watching the mama birds building their nests in the trees around the yard. I am really hoping though, that this year, they will stay away from my plants!

This little moss birdhouse is so cute and after adding a pretty little bird to the perch, I tied this to the ladder as well. Decorating a ladder for spring is a great way to put all that excess moss in the craft bins to use!

A Pretty Spring Blanket

I also added a pretty quilt in spring colors. After all it is a blanket ladder!

Moss, a Springtime Favorite

To finish things off, I used the basket that held pine cones a few weeks ago but now is full of moss balls and eggs. Moss is just the very essence of the season!

I am hoping our youngest little pound puppy will stick to her toy basket. So far she’s left my teddy bear collection alone so I’m optimistic!

I am so happy with the final product! Once again my ladder has become a favorite decoration for the new season!

    1. Thank you Rita! It’s been awhile since we’ve had one as young as Ari in the house. So far though she has not destroyed anything important, knock on wood! I am so glad you are completely vaccinated now and able to get together with family. We are getting there finally. They just announced 4 new mass vaccination sites starting within the next two weeks so won’t be too long now. We had appointments for yesterday but they were switched to 4:00 today. Can’t wait!
