What Else Can You Do with a Pair of Skates?

Just when I thought I was done with my winter decor, I came across these skates so of course I need to use them somewhere!   They came with some pretty fresh flowers from a friend a few years ago. I just couldn’t part with them and today I am so glad I didn’t! I will turn them into a winter centerpiece to use for the rest of the season.

They really are adorable and I have no idea why I left them packed away for so long! I believe there was a floral plastic container inside the skates but I’m guessing I threw it out with the flowers.  Which means I won’t be using fresh flowers today!  Back to the craft bins!

Add Some Greenery

I find it amazing that I still have evergreen picks in there but I do!  I literally have them in displays all over the house right now.  Finding more means I have way too many! Thus my quest to empty my craft bins is a necessary one for sure! They are, however, exactly what I need for this project.  After all… it is still winter for a few more months!

I also found some good floral styrofoam that I will use to keep the picks centered.  Pushing the styrofoam down inside the skates, the picks will stay exactly where I put them.

A Little Bit of Sparkle

Pretty!  But definitely not complete so I will see what I’ve got in my sparkle bag.  You have one of those too right?  All those things that are really cute but keep you covered in sparkles for a day or two.  Yes!  These are perfect for a winter display.  

Illuminate

Still needs something, don’t you think so? Lights! That’s exactly what it needs! I am never ready to pack away the lights after Christmas.   After a season of living in a magical place where everything glistens, I’m just not ready!  So a little bit of illumination will be perfect here.

Finally, a pretty bow will finish it off!  This will go on my kitchen table for the rest of the winter season.  A buffalo checked bow will fit nicely with my kitchen decor.

There! I think this is exactly what the kitchen table needed!
