The Holidays are coming up fast and if you’re like me, you’ve already missed the “I’ll be done shopping by Thanksgiving” threshold. I’ve put my Christmas list into categories and today I’m concentrating on purchasing some great gifts for the pet lover in the family! Maybe there are a few things here that will work for you too!
Pets come with a lot of responsibility and a lot of expenses. I’m here to tell you that they are worth every penny!
We have three grandpups in our family and this time of year, I like to contribute to their upbringing! I’m sharing a few ideas I have for the perfect pet lover gift below.

A Place to Lay Their Heads
We all know how important a good night’s sleep can be and we appreciate a cozy, comfy bed. The fur babies in our lives deserve the same!
Dinnertime!
Not all pet bowls are created equal. Stainless steel bowls are always a good way to go. They are so easy to clean especially if your pet eats a wet food diet.
For larger dogs, having bowls on a riser makes it nice. Likewise for a kitty or a small dog, a tilted bowl is a great choice.
Playtime!
I’ve always been pretty picky about the toys I give my furry friends. Of course, they need to be fun but they also need to be safe as possible. Dogs love squeaky toys but they need a bit of supervision while destroying them. Likewise, chew toys are better than your favorite pair of running shoes but make sure they are made from non-toxic materials.
Merry Christmas!
It’s always nice to make sure our four legged friends have a Merry Christmas too!
Safety First
Being a Doxie mom, I am very aware how easily our little guys can hurt themselves. Sometimes it just happens but we do all we can to try and prevent it. One of the most common injuries comes from jumping off beds and furniture. So a pet ramp is a must for us. Since we travel and the dogs often join us, we prefer one that can easily fold up and is adjustable.
Cats are so athletic and that can often lead to dangerous situations. They can make it to the top of your kitchen cabinets in the blink of an eye! While you can’t watch them 24/7, giving them a safer place to hang out is always a good idea.
A Gift for the Human
The pet lover in the family will appreciate any help with the endless supplies they need for their fur babies. Still, it’s nice to give that pet lover something of their very own. Here’s a few ideas that might help shorten your list!
