How to: Autumn Coffee Bar Refresh

The coffee bar is the place I’ve chosen to start my fall decorating this year.  While I love the summer version, it is time for a change. Nothing drastic… just a little 10 minute autumn coffee bar refresh!

The kitchen has always reflected my love for black and white buffalo checked decor.   I want to bring a few matching accents to the bar to mix in with the orange, gold, and shades of burgundy so representative of the new season.  But first things first!

Seasonal Sign

Adding a seasonal sign is a great way to give your bar a quick refresh! Although the Farmers Market sign I used for the summer months could work, I needed a change. I think I’ve found a worthy replacement!

I used a cute coffee tin on the Fourth of July bar and I was thrilled to find a similar one for fall. Adding several fall flowers and a few buffalo checked pumpkins and it will be the centerpiece for the shelf below the sign.

Fall Flowers

Buffalo Checked Accents

Next I replaced the Farmers market mugs with some plain orange cups from my fall collection. . A buffalo checked pumpkin added to each cup ties in to the black and white overall theme of the kitchen. My autumn coffee bar is taking shape!

Deciding that the metal coffee cup could stay for the season, I simply added a bright orange leaf with double-sided tape. I removed the hanging sign from the opposite side and replaced it with a printable I made last week.

A Little Bit of Light

I also wanted to keep the small lamp on the bar. Filled with faux lemons for the summer months, a quick change to candy corn and an added bow bring it up to date for the new season.

Tiered Tray Transition

Everyone knows how much I love my tiered trays so putting it away for fall was out of the question! Of course all things lemon must go but it is an easy transition to fall. I’ve switched out the sugar and creamer with my fall set. Mini pumpkins replace the lemons in the buffalo checked bag. The little houses reminding me to embrace the meaning of the season also fit perfectly here. As the weather cools, the autumn coffee bar becomes a hot chocolate station on colder evenings. Fall sprinkles in a cute little jar are a must.

Just a Few More Accents and Signs

You can never have too many signs in my opinion! Of course my opinion differs greatly from that of my husband. He and I have never seen eye to eye on the signs I use in my decor. You can read about that in last years post, Signs of the Season. He has not noticed the new ones I’ve brought in so far but I’m sure he will have quite a lot to say once he does. I’ll keep you posted on that!

As a final addition to the bar, I added a black crow under the coffee company sign. He is the mascot after all!

The transition from summer to fall at the coffee bar took less than 10 minutes but adds so much to creating an autumn country kitchen look. It’s the cozy first stop before starting our day and very representative of the season ahead.
