Prayers for Jenny

People ask me all the time what I love most about blogging. That’s such an easy question to answer! It’s the connections. It’s meeting people that you would never have met without it. People who touch your life in ways that you never expected.

Jenny. She’s one of those people. She’s a subscriber to My Home of All Seasons and that is how I’ve come to know her. I’ve never met her in person yet I feel as if I’ve known her forever. She lives in Australia and that is quite literally the other side of the world from my home in Parker, Colorado. But yet, I consider her a dear friend.

Through pictures, I have realized what an extremely talented lady she is. She’s the only person I know who changes her decor more often than I do! Her home is so warm and inviting and just the perfect reflection of her personality. The many homemade items and the upscales she’s done are just lovely.

She loves thrifting and turning her finds into beautiful pieces for her home.

She loves gardening and it’s spring in Australia so she has much to do.

Through our emails, I have also gotten to know her on a personal level. She is a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. Her incredibly beautiful daughter is her best friend.

And… Jenny has cancer. I learned of that as a side note in one of our exchanges.

It doesn’t define her. She’s just too busy living her life to let that happen. It just “is.” We’ve talked about that like we’ve talked about everything under the sun. She has been fighting cancer in many forms for years yet she embraces each day and lives it to the fullest.

I saw this sign in my favorite store one day and I sent her this picture. It just immediately brought her to mind.

She found it quite funny since that is the nickname her doctors have given her. But while they thought her last treatments were working, they were not. So she is back at the starting gate and has begun a new round in her fight.

Most of us have dealt with cancer in one way or another. At the very least, we have known a friend or loved one affected by it. The very word sends a chill down our spines. But every single day there is progress being made in the fight to rid the world of this disease.

Jenny will beat this. There is no doubt in my mind. She is determined, she is strong, and her love of life has no match. But she has a rough road ahead and she very much believes in the power of prayer. So if you are reading this then I’m asking you to add Jenny to your prayers tonight. Prayer and Jenny’s incredibly positive outlook on life will get her through this battle.

She’s agreed to do a guest post for us and teach us one of her creative projects when she’s feeling better. I’m holding her to that! In the meantime, I know any encouraging words you may have for Jenny will be greatly appreciated. If you’d like to send her your thoughts, leave a comment below and I’ll make sure she sees them.

Thank you so much for being a part of my life!

This is my 6th breast cancer diagnosis over 16 years. So far l have been so lucky to have kept going, through 11 lines of treatment in that time. But this is a tough one. Spread to several bones and points in my body. I’m still lucky, in that there is chemo for me to try,
But it’s been a bit harder this time, both physically and emotionally.

Happily, through incredible artistic bloggers like Denise and others, l
Am able to keep my crafts going, as a good distraction from everything.

Trust me everyone, l do feel the power of prayer strengthening me, and l really appreciate that. Thank you Denise, and thankyou to all of your subscribers sending me your love and support. So beautiful, and so so much felt by myself, and others going through challenging times.

  9. Denise and Jenny,
I was stopping by to Thank Denise for visiting my blog when this caught my eye…Sending prayers to you Jenny as you once again fight through this treatment…. You are an inspiration to others and that you live every day to the fullest…My nephew did the same in his last 18 months of his life. He created wonderful memories for his wife and 3 young daughters as they went on cruises and other vacations , sporting games and any new adventure that they could do and that he was physically able to…A week before he passed away from stage 4 colon cancer at the age of 48 years old, they were in NYC for a Yankees game and saw Wicked on Broadway even though he was in a wheelchair…His prognosis was very poor from the beginning but I have known several people who lived for 20 -30 years with metastatic breast cancer as I am a retired nurse. A dear friend of mine lived for 25 years after her initial diagnosis and she too lived everyday to the fullest…I too am a cancer survivor but I was very lucky in that I needed no chemo or radiation. I remain cancer free for going on 14 years now but I know there is a strong possibility that it will return…So I live my life to what I think is the fullest for me….Sending Hugs,
    Deb
