She’ll be the first to laugh when you trip over your own feet and will help you up only when she catches her breath. She is your ride or die! There is a sign in my laundry room that says “A home without a dog is just a house.” I believe that with all my heart. For you, maybe crossing out the dog and inserting cat in its place is a truer statement. Maybe it’s a rabbit, chickens, horses, or birds. It could be a menagerie of all.

The point is, for most of us, our pets are an important part of our family. They bring so much joy into our lives everyday. We celebrate their lives and we mourn their passing just as we would any other family member.

We’ve been called names like “Crazy Cat Lady.” There are endless memes out there portraying us as nuts. It couldn’t matter less. We simply take it in stride and go with it.
