Mother’s Day is almost here so I’m sharing a few of my favorite sayings, quotes, and poems about that most important person! Here are some ways you can say “I Love You, Mom” with a Mother’s Day Printable gift.
Doesn’t it always seem that mere words are never enough to describe the love we feel when it comes to our mother? How “Thanks Mom” never seems to feel like enough? I’ve always struggled with that. It really isn’t until you become a mom yourself, that you understand. Those words, however inadequate they seem, are so important!
Why God Made Mothers
I absolutely love this quote! It’s always been true for me. When I would struggle with something, had to make an impossible decision, or just needed an encouraging word… first came the prayers, then the call to Mom. It was almost like hedging your bets in a way!
You are the World
This quote was a favorite Mother’s Day Printable from last year’s offerings. Watching a new mom with her child always makes me think of this saying. Right from the very beginning, that mom really is the world for her children.
A Mother’s Walk
This one is such a beautiful way of showing the evolving relationship of a mother and her child. Sometimes I miss the stages of motherhood that passed by in the blink of the eye. But most days, I find such joy in spending time with the grown up version of those adorable little ones I knew. I can no longer see my own mother but I feel her presence every single day. She walks before me once again, to show me how to live my life without her.
A Mother Holds Their Hearts Forever
Do you remember the time you walked your child to school but on that day, they pulled their hand from yours? They had reached that place where it was embarrassing in front of their schoolmates. It happens and it’s heartbreaking until you realize that’s exactly how it should be. You’ve done your best to instill a confidence and independence in them and it’s working. Just remember they will never outgrow your love. They will hold you in their hearts as you do your own sweet mom.
A Heart of Gold
This cute little poem has not been claimed by anyone that I can find on the net. It’s a shame because the words are beautiful. You can find it used on coffee mugs, sweatshirts, or just about everywhere this time of year. This is my rendition so now you can find it in a Mother’s Day Printable too!
Life Doesn’t Come With a Manual
Isn’t this the truth??? Even if it did, I would still double check it with my Mother! We lost my Mom years ago but I still find myself thinking “I need to call Mom and ask her that.” I still wonder so often if I did the right thing. Would she have done it that way? Except for those annoying teenage years when you mistakenly think you know everything, you need the guidance that can only come from the mother figure in your life.
Mother’s Day Laughs
Every mom has a different relationship with each of their children. In my life, my daughter posts a heartfelt Mother’s Day letter on facebook each year. It is always so beautiful and always moves me to tears. My son, on the other hand, makes it his mission to keep me laughing for the rest of the day with his sarcastic sense of humor. If you’re that child for your mom, these might be more appealing.
Just One More…
If you are lucky enough to have Grandma nearby, be sure to make her day special too!
