Two more days! Spring arrives in TWO more days! I really can’t wait this year. I do love my seasons but my spring cleaning is done, the grass is getting green, and I am ready for warmer weather. Unfortunately it looks like I will have to wait awhile longer for that last part. That terrible weatherman just said 6-8 inches of snow on Thursday! But it’s gorgeous today and I am forging ahead with my spring decorating despite the forecast. Right now I am working on my spring staircase.
Adding a spring garland to your banister
If I could change just one thing in my home right now, this would be it! My staircase! It desperately needs an update. I fully intend to see that it gets one at some point this year. But for right now, it is what it is and I’ve tried to make it tolerable.
Adding the elements of the season
I combined a pine garland with a handmade mesh one for the winter season and I loved it. I’ve done the same for the spring. My base is an old grapevine garland that I used alone at one time. I put that together with some spring colored mesh, painted wood bunnies, and faux chocolate eggs.
Adding lights for a beautiful finish to your staircase
Battery operated lights finish it off and this is now a spring staircase I can live with awhile longer! We are planning on restaining the hardwood floors this year as well. Since I will have to live with the dust the sanding down will bring, that might just be the perfect time to deal with the stairs as well.
I feel like I’ve already accomplished a lot today but I am determined to be finished for the first day of Spring. With the forecast in mind, I will spend tomorrow morning doing yard work. I love being outdoors right now and since the current situation has us all hunkered down, it will be nice to have the yard ready to enjoy when the next round of snow melts.
For the moment, I will continue on and hope to have my spring gallery loaded with pictures on the first day of spring. I hope you’ll stop by for a virtual visit!

Just came across this picture from last year and thought I’d share!
The real thing
Before I get back to decorating, I came across this picture from last spring and thought I would share!
Come back little bunny! I believe I have the perfect place for you!
