Trays come in every shape and size and make a great decorating tool all year long. Today I am sharing 5 easy Springtime tray ideas to celebrate the season.
Trays are the perfect way to showcase your seasonal favorites. Concentrated in one place, it makes a bigger impact visually than individual items placed on a table. This year, I’ve used a variety of trays to bring a little springtime into every room in my home. I’m sharing them all below complete with links to create a similar look.
#1 Spring Has Sprung
I love a tiered tray, don’t you? There is so much space to work with! Since I’m not yet seeing too much green outside my windows yet, I made sure it was front and center here. If you have some faux greenery in your craft bin, this is an easy springtime tray idea might be just the one for you!
Bring in the Color of Spring
Greenery is such an important element to any springtime tray or vignette. After all, If there is one defining color of the season, this would be it. Anyone who lives in an area where winter truly happens, the longing for the color begins halfway through. Green grass, green trees, green plants… Oh how we miss that!
There are many ways to bring a touch of green to your tray. A potted plant, a spray, or a mossy nest will all do the trick. Since this tray will eventually be a focal point in my kitchen, I used faux herbs and veggies to bring in my green.
The top tier includes a faux cabbage and the cutest little bunny to eat it! A rolled tea towel and a bird’s nest finish off this tier.
My kitchen has a lot of black and white accents. To tie the tray in, I added a buffalo checked bunny and carrots. A pail filled with faux parsley and quite a few green sprays bring the color of the season to the bottom tier as well.
This tray has made sure that Spring has Sprung in the kitchen!

#2 Bunny Hop
A simple basket tray can be the perfect base for a spring vignette. With the right accents, it quickly adds a taste of the season to whatever room you choose.
Choose a Focal Point
Every tray or vignette has a focal point. Although there may be several items included, there is always one that stands out and draws the eye. Whether it’s the height, color, or placement, you can simply leave it to chance or you can decide what it will be. Choose a focal point and you’re well on your way to creating a new springtime favorite.
Although the bunny on this tray is quite large, if placed directly on the tray, he would be the same height as the floral display. He is one of my favorite spring pieces so I decided to make him a little taller. Using some old books as a riser, he stands taller and is very much the focal point here.
Some spring flowers and a pretty mug with a nest adds so much to the springtime feel. This vignette is intended for my formal and very traditional living room. I added a vintage style clock to compliment the surroundings.
And just like that, we have a pretty spring vignette to take us through the season. Choose a focal point and everything else falls into place!
#3 Tiptoe Through the Tulips
Spring Flowers
A tray is a great place for the explosion of color that a spring flower display will bring. Whether faux or real, flowers add so much. In keeping with the color palette that I chose this year, I added some faux pink tulips here.
A tulip printable I created earlier this year, a small faux plant, and a brass bunny finish things off. Adding elements of differing mediums adds so much interest to the overall look. Although the bunny is the smallest item on my tray, he automatically catches the eye.
This tray has brought that springtime feel to the family room.
#4 Bunnies and Birds Oh My
The Elements of the Season
For me, the birds and the bunnies are every bit as important as the color green. In a matter of weeks, the bunnies will be devouring the fresh new grass in the yard. The birds have already started returning and building nests in the eaves of the house. This tray which I’ve placed on the kitchen island, incorporates both.
The colors in my kitchen are various shades of black, cream, and gray. I bring in accents for each season to add a burst of color. The mix of deep purple and bright green stand out against the grayscale background of the kitchen itself.
The colorful nests, the printable, and the purple candle provide so much pop to this simple tray. The contrast of the bunny’s green egg adds a little more to the overall look.
The elements of the season are front and center in my kitchen today!
#5 Bunnie’s Spring Market
Let Your Creativity Run Wild
This tiered tray is my favorite this year. I designed it as part of my coffee bar refresh. Having decided early on that this year’s theme would be all about bunnies, I was so excited to get going!
This is the only place on the bar where greenery would work so it quickly became my starting point. I added a house shaped vase filled with stems and flowers to the top tier.
A little pink pot overflowing with greenery worked perfectly on the bottom.
From there I let the my imagination take over. I added a small bunny and a bird’s nest to complete the top but I needed a bit more whimsy.
The overall theme here is a spring market so the little bike was perfect for the bunnies delivery service.
I loved the final look of the coffee bar this year! You can check it all out right here.
