A Kitchen Full of Love

The kitchen is always described as the heart of a home. Very true I think! So when contemplating the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday, this seems like the obvious place to add a little holiday decor! A kitchen full of love so to speak!

If you have been following the blog, then you know I consider my tiered trays to be among my most essential decorating tools. With very little effort, it always becomes a holiday favorite. The possibilities are endless! I put mine together a few different ways to show you just how easy it is.

Farmhouse Valentine Tiered Tray

I started my tray with several adorable signs I found around town this year. Things have opened up quite a bit here so I ventured out to my favorite craft stores. Since my kitchen has a buffalo checked theme throughout, I decided to go that route with my first tray.

It may be that I am just sooo ready for things to green up this year, but I felt a little bit of greenery was needed for this tray. Signs, hearts and a gnome add to the farmhouse feel.

I wanted to keep this display on the island and thought it needed a few more elements to complete the picture.

The printable in the middle can be found in the Printable Library. Putting it into a frame without glass allowed me to add the moss and heart to give it a dimensional feel. I kept the scale and simply added some checked hearts and a candle to bring it into the holiday.

Romantic Tiered Tray

Farmhouse decor is not for everyone. While popular in the farmhouse setting, a tiered tray can be used with any decorating style. I decided to put this one together with a little more of a romantic feel.

Although this tray can add so much to the kitchen full of love theme, it isn’t glued to the room. With the right accents around it, it is fancy enough to go just about anywhere.

Lovely Table for Two

Our restaurants are once again open in a limited capacity, however, we have already made the decision to stay home this year for Valentine’s Day. We are so close to being in line for the vaccine so we are doing our best to avoid a lot of public contact. These days we are doing our shopping at odd times when the stores are less busy and we eat at home a lot more. We still visit our favorite restaurants but mostly to pick up take out. Assuming that will be our plan for Valentine’s Day, I decided a pretty tablescape will be in order.

The dining room is simply too large for an intimate dinner for the two of us. My kitchen full of love will do just fine. A few little touches here and there and it will be perfect for the one I love!

A pink and red theme using white heart chargers, red dinner plates, and pink napkins provide a simple classic look. I tied the silverware together with red heart ribbon and added a tiny rose. Knowing how much my husband loves the signs I use all year– not (see: Signs of the Season), I couldn’t resist adding a few here! I purchased the wine glasses from a craft fair last year. Hand-painted tulips in red and pink perfectly round out my Lovely Valentine’s Table for Two!

I will enjoy my kitchen full of love from now through the Valentine’s Day holiday. After that…who knows! Depending on the weather, I might be tempted to bring in some spring!

    1. Thank you Deb! Just FYI, I bought a really small one at the Target Dollarspot for my daughter last week. She’s in an apartment in San Diego and has limited counterspace too. But they had a small white tiered tray and a red one for Valentine’s Day. I bought the red one for her cocoa bar next year. Five Dollars! I was thrilled!

  4. What fun and lovely vignette ideas for Valentine’s Day, Denise. I especially love your hearts and candle in your scale (i’m gonna steal that idea for my scale), and I like those wooden hearts SO much, I already have them in my stash! 😉 (I actually took of the burlap ribbon and replaced it with my own! LOL!)

    1. Thanks so much Julie. Steal away… I’ve already stole your idea on the little metal hearts in your tote post. I’ve got those in my stash but you’ve made them so much better! Thanks for stopping by!
