A Kitchen Full of Summer, Fun and Easy Themes

Spring is in full swing but having a Home of All Seasons requires getting a jump on things. If a kitchen full of summer is your next project , I’ve got some fun and easy decor ideas right here!

I truly love spring and all it brings with it. Everything is so fresh and new. But to me, it’s the promise of the beautiful, summer days ahead that means the most.

With that in mind, I’m gathering together ideas from kitchens past while planning this year’s version. So I thought I’d share some ideas today complete with links to help you plan your own summer kitchen.

Summer Kitchen Themes

Giving the kitchen a new look for summer is always so much fun. I tend to get started right after Easter each year. It’s the knowledge that warmer weather is coming and I’ll be spending most of my days outside that gets me moving. I want everything done beforehand so I can just enjoy those lazy summer days. The kitchen is always a great place to start.

Lemon Tree Very Pretty…

Ok admit it! You’re silently singing the lemon tree song in your head! Sorry!

Lemons are still an extremely popular look for a kitchen. The words clean and fresh spring to mind. I have used lemons in the kitchen for quite a few years now and I’m still in love with the look. Although I’m far from finished with this, here’s a sneak peek at this year’s coffee bar.

There are so many fun lemon items this year and I’m linking some of my favorites below.

Blueberry Hill

This year, while I’ll still be using my lemons, I am planning on mixing in a bit of blue. I just love blue and yellow together, don’t you? Blueberries make a great kitchen theme even without the lemons! I’ve got several of the items linked below in my cart right now!

Don’t Worry, Bee Happy

Last year, I debated on doing a bee theme in the kitchen. I wasn’t quite ready to give up my lemons though so I compromised with a tiered tray and some printables. (The printables are back in the library and ready to be downloaded. )

There are so many more cute bee related items this year that it’s even more tempting!

Strawberry Fields Forever

Someday I’m going to have a cute red kitchen! I really love the color but I just don’t see it working in this house. I think maybe that’s why I go a little overboard for the Fourth and of course at Christmas Time. Still, I’m always on the lookout for cute things I can put in my “someday” kitchen.

There are so many themes that involve the color red. Cherries are always cute in the kitchen and lady bugs are adorable on a tiered tray. Yet it’s always the strawberry decorations that catch my eye. I mean… just look!!!

( I bought that cute pitcher just because I think it will be just adorable for an outdoor summer brunch.)

Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes

One of my favorite kitchen themes has always been herbs. I love an indoor herb garden and it is so easy to make them a part of the decor. Kitchen herbs in cute little pots bring such a fresh look to the room.

If you are new to herb gardening, be sure to check out my post, The Ten Best Herbs for Beginners. There’s some good information you’ll want to read before heading to the nursery.

Theme Printables

There are so many ways to bring a touch of summer to your kitchen. Printables are always a great start! The library is full of your favorites from past years and I’ll be updating it very soon with this year’s offerings. For the moment though, I am adding quite a few small signs (perfect for a tiered tray) that you might want to use if you choose one of the themes above. They are free for all subscribers to download and print so check back soon!
