Guest Bedroom Update

At this moment, I have no plans for guests this summer. Still, I know that someday in some way, life will return to some semblance of normal. With that in mind, I decided to make sure we are ready when that happens. A guest bedroom update is definitely in order!

The Greatest Mother’s Day Gift

Mother’s day is always such a wonderful time! But I know…this is a strange one to say the least. If you do not live with your mom, this will be a hard one to take. As a daughter, I miss my mother who left us several years ago, every single day. As a mom, I miss my child who no longer lives nearby just as much. I am, however, incredibly blessed to have one of my children right here with me. So many moms will be alone this year.

I miss my hair stylist!!!

Ok be honest…who hasn’t said this at least 10 times in the last 2 weeks??? Just FYI- they miss you too. When I called my stylist to ask her if she would be willing to write the following guest post, she told me that this has been the hardest time of her career. She explained to me that for years her days have been spent talking with people and building relationships and then one day it just ended. Abruptly to say the least! They joined the ranks of the unemployed and immediately lost all contact with so many people all at once. So yes…they miss us too.

I created this printable simply to say thank you. Thank you to the doctors and nurses, and hospital workers. Thank you to our first responders, the grocery store workers, delivery people, and the countless others who are working so hard to take care of all of us.

DIY -Fairy Patio Lantern – Miniature Fairy Garden

Ok! You’re right! It is too early to put plants and flowers outside in Colorado. I always adhere to the Mother’s Day rule. But this year, it is just so much harder! The weather is beautiful this week and we are spending a lot of time outside. The grass is turning green and the lilacs are beginning to bud. The patio is normally full of plants and flowers. But it really is too early! So I decided to make a Spring Patio Lantern that I can simply carry inside if the weather turns.

The 10 best herbs for beginners

I am obsessed with herbs! I am always trying new ones, some with success, others a complete failure. Different herbs require different climates, different soil consistency, a multitude of factors. I take advantage of the experts at my local nursery to help me with my choices. My failures are normally a result of ignoring those experts and thinking I know better! Wrong! But…I have learned a lot over the years. With that in mind, I have put together a list of what the experts believe are the 10 best herbs for beginners. Through trial and error, I have found them to be right!

Aromatherapy for stress relief

Have you ever noticed how easily scents can change your mood? The sense of smell is widely considered the most powerful sense we humans possess. The dogs really have nothing on us! The scent of a certain flower can bring back memories long forgotten. Sauce simmering on the stovetop can trigger hunger. The scent of pine can transport us into the future with anticipation of the coming holidays. Realizing this, Essential Oil diffusers have become a must have in every household. As a result, Aromatherapy is finally getting the kudos it has long deserved.
