Spring Babies

Spring is here and so are the babies! Well almost! I am anxiously awaiting two. One will be here very soon and the other is not far behind. I’m so excited to meet them both!

The first little girl is my bestie’ s first grandchild! She has no idea how excited her “Mimi” is but I sure do! It will be awhile before I get to meet her myself but I’m so happy for everyone. They will love her to the moon and back!

The second little one is the daughter of a girl who I have watched grow up and I love so much! This baby will be born in Colorado so other than fighting my way through blood relatives, I’ll meet her soon.

Since I love both of their mama’s, I’ve been having so much fun putting together special gifts for them. One was delivered yesterday so I can share it here. In keeping with her nursery theme (llamas) this one was especially fun to make.

Seriously…is there anything cuter than a llama??? This Mama Llama has one of the prettiest nurseries I’ve ever seen!

I cannot share the second one I’m working on until the “mom in the making” sees it herself.

But…I thought I would share a few from the past though in case you were looking for ideas. This does seem to be “baby season!” I absolutely love making them and they are so much fun to give! At one time, this was a bit of a business for me but now they are just for the special people in my life.

I had so much fun putting this one together. Knowing Mom and Dad as well as I do, there was no question that this little girl would be a princess. I was absolutely right! The crown on the top is an actual tiara for her to wear on her 21st birthday. I am honorary “Gamma Neese” so I know she will always be in my life! So grateful!

I love using pictures or quotes on the front! Mom and Dad wanted to be surprised so there wasn’t a theme to work with but I was very happy with the end result! You can never go wrong with a Teddy on top either. As a bear collector, I do not believe you can ever have too many so you might as well start early on!

This was such a fun one too! This little boy’s Mommy and Daddy are beach bums like us! There was never a question what the theme would be so I started shopping the day we heard he was coming.

Just a few more ideas if Spring babies are in your future.

The little one layer cakes are such an easy peasy gift. I normally use a hooded towel for the base and make it bath related. Fold it lengthwise a few times and make sure the hood is in the front. When wrapped around the diapers it forms little pockets to add travel size baby bath items. Add a rubber duck, a few wash clothes, or a baby brush set and you’re done! They look adorable in a cake box that you can find at any craft store too!

If it’s weddings on your calendar, a towel cake is a great shower gift.

Weddings and BABIES! So exciting! I cannot wait to meet the new little ones coming into the world! Until they get here, I will just have to watch this one grow up!

Update

Our little llama has arrived safe and sound. She is absolutely beautiful!

The baby shower for the second adorable mom in my life is over and baby will be here any day! Now I can share her baby cake! Her theme could not have been cuter! Precious little farm animals will welcome this little girl.

I always try to add something to each cake that can be saved for baby long after they outgrow the diapers and clothes. If you look closely, the cow on top is wearing a silver locket on this one! Cannot wait to meet the little girl who will wear it someday!
