Easing Into Spring With A Little Bit of Color

Spring is coming up fast and if you’re like me, decorating for the new season is front and center in your mind. However, there are a few decisions to make before we ease into spring.

Choosing a Color Scheme

Deciding on a color scheme is the very first step. After a long winter of neutrals, it’s time to bring in the soft colors of spring. There are just so many choices! The pastel version of almost every color of the spectrum works.

Pretty in Pink

First let me just say, I am not a “pink” person. In fact, it’s my least favorite color. But it has become my go to in recent years nonetheless. I think it’s just so representative of the season. So many beautiful pink blooms and flowering trees! I love to bring it inside with pillows and throws.

A Little Green Envy

A light airy green is a great spring palette. There are so many shades to choose from. The best part of choosing green is that most likely, you can shop your home for accessories. Chances are you already have a few plants to coordinate with. Easing into spring with shades of green is great way to go.

Just Peachy

Peach is another lovely choice. A peach throw can mesh well with almost any colored sofa or chair. It’s quite easy to find floral accessories with a peachy hue as well.

Lavender Fields Forever

Lavender and lilac tones will bring a burst of soft color to any room. Mixed with some pretty greenery, it creates a stunning picture.

Blue Skies Smiling at Me

Blue has always been a summer color for me but a soft shade of blue can work well for a spring palette. Easing into spring if blue is your choice can be a breeze with the right accessories.

Hello Sunshine

Yellow will always bring some sunshine to any room. Spring is the perfect time to brighten things up with this happy color.

Spring Greenery

Once you’ve decided on your color scheme, it’s time to accessorize! That’s really the fun part. Greenery is a vital part of spring decorating. If you’re lucky enough to live in a warm climate, then your houseplants are perfect. For those of us in the midst of winter, faux greenery is the answer.

Spring Wreaths and Swags

Changing out a wreath or replacing a swag can instantly bring a springtime feel.

Bunnies and Birds

Of course the really fun part is bringing in the bunnies and birds! I vowed not to add any more to my collection but how could I resist these two???

  1. Hi Denise, after a past week of a lot of miles driven (with my sisters, antiquing), number crunching (taxes), and even a bit of gardening (cleaning out one of my flower beds), I’m finally catching up with blogging friends. Spring is my absolute favorite season, and I love all the colorways and items you’ve captured in this post (pinning!). This year I’ve used some hues of purple and blue, but I’ve always loved yellows and greens too. I shy away from pink but reconcile it with peach! Here’s to a good week leading to the official start of spring.
