Spring is over and it’s time to celebrate a brand new season! By all means, put away the bunnies and the nests! But… that springy green wreath? Here’s an easy way to bring it into the new season with a little touch of summer.
If you’re looking to while away the day crafting, this DIY is soooo NOT that! However, if you’re just feeling the need to bring a little bit of that summer vibe into your home, follow along!
Supplies
- 14 inch Boxwood/Eucalyptus (green) wreath
- 8 inch round plexiglass picture frame
- Bakers twine
- Blueberry Picks
- Free Printable (See Below)
Blueberry/Fourth of July Wreath Instructions
Step 1. Download and print the Blue Haven Berry Farm printable. Cut it down to the size of your frame. (I’ve linked the frame that I used below. I needed a wider circle than the black circle on the print. I used the plexiglass as a guide and it fit the frame perfectly. )
Step 2. My 8 inch frame fit snuggly inside the green wreath center. To make it extra secure, I used a few pieces of bakers twine to tie it to the wreath itself.
Step 3. Space your picks and poke them through the greenery. Bend them under to hold them in place. (If your wreath will remain this way forever, you can easily use a glue gun to lock them in place. I will reuse mine several times so I prefer to simply bend the wires down making the blueberries easy to remove and store.)
That’s it! All there is to it! The finished product is guaranteed to bring a summertime look to your favorite green wreath!
4th of July Update
To make your wreath a favorite for the holiday, simply switch out the Berry Farm print for the Liberty one. The blueberries can stay in place for an easy change back after the Fourth is over. I added a red bow and I love it!
This wreath will take me through the summer quite nicely! The frame in the center has already helped me decorate for 3 different seasons!
Everything I’ve used today is linked below. As always, make sure to check your craft bins for any supplies you might already have on hand.
