Fall Lanterns

Lanterns are such a great decorating element for any season. Just by adding a candle and a seasonal bow you can easily take a lantern from one season to the next. Decorating fall lanterns can be as simple or as detailed as you like.

Warm and cozy are the adjectives I use most for this season. Nothing visualizes these words better than candlelight. Because of happy dogs, whose tails are constantly moving, I tend to use more battery operated candles in my decor. I have no desire to spend hours cleaning wax from the carpet! Todays flameless candles are so realistic that I’ve barely missed my real ones!

Fall Elements

Another simple way to create fall lanterns is to add pumpkins and fall picks stacked inside. Adding a strand of fairy lights will give it an added dimension as well.

Create a Fall Scene

Depending on the size of your lantern, creating a fall scene is another way to go. Displaying some of your favorite fall decorations inside a lantern will bring them into focus. Some of these things would otherwise be lost mixed in with the most colorful fall displays.

Your scene can be as simple as adding a scarecrow:

… or as detailed as creating an entire autumn atmosphere inside!

Lanterns, lanterns, and more lanterns

Lanterns are among the most versatile decorating tools in your arsenal when your goal is a seasonal home. They are the first thing I change when a new season arrives. They require little effort on your part but make such a huge statement.

I’ve included links to some of my favorites from Amazon.

Lanterns come in every shape and size. They can be incorporated into every decorating style and they are a great seasonal tool. Most of all, they bring that warm and cozy feel that we all strive to achieve.
