I simply cannot believe we are a week into September already! Time is going so fast this year. I intended to be all decked out for fall by the first but I didn’t quite make it. Too many projects still unfinished so I am shooting for the beginning of next week instead. However, I did manage to gather all I need to share some fall tiered tray ideas with you.
Tiered trays have always been a favorite decorating tool for me. There are just so many options! With fall as the main theme, you can customize it with anything really. A pumpkin here, a scarecrow there, and you’re set.
Buffalo Checked Seasonal Tray
I haven’t decided where I will put mine this year so I thought I would share a few ideas I am considering. Where it ultimately ends up is a big part of the elements I’ll use.
If I put it on my counter near the buffalo checked window topper, I might just want to go the plaid route. Perhaps something like this…
I think maybe displaying the gather sign in the middle of the window might be better. Adding a few dollar tree pip berry strands can’t hurt either!
Traditional Fall Colors
If I were to decide to put it on the island where there is a view of the rest of the kitchen then I’m thinking more along these lines, with traditional colors and accents…
However, if I want it to be more useful than just pretty, I could place it on my coffee bar. In that case, I would want it to hold cups while still being fun to look at…
The Functional Tray
Although technically this one is considered a tiered fruit bowl, I rarely use it for that purpose. In the spring, it holds eggs and bunnies, herbs in the summer, and evergreen picks and Christmas decorations in the winter. But for fall, I fill it with pumpkins and gourds. Adding a sign or two and it’s an autumn gem!
One Tray Through The Seasons
This is another of those wonderful props that can be changed all year in your seasonal home. With very little cost, you can have a new decoration to help you celebrate. The pictures below show how easy it is to transition from one season to another.
Tiered trays come in every shape and size to accommodate any budget or any space limitations. I truly consider them a must have if you’re working on having a seasonal home. Here are just a few links to my favorites!

All About You
Putting together a tiered tray is simple. It is really just all about you! Vintage, farmhouse, oval, or round…anything goes. You can keep it basically the same all year. Add an item or two to reflect the season or change the whole thing. It really doesn’t matter. The important thing is that it holds and displays your treasures, seasonal or otherwise.
I hope this post will give you some ideas. At the very least, I hope it will inspire you to bring out your creative self!
Help! I’m going to need some input deciding which way to go! Leave me a comment on which one you would choose. I will post the end result in the Autumn Home Gallery once I am all decked out for the season!

Love all the way your tiered tray is styled but that checked acorn is over-the-top adorable! Perfectly fall.
Thanks so much Cindy! Yes…that acorn was a “must have” for sure! Thanks for stopping by!
I’m crushing on black and white check!!! Would you share your sources…pretty please?
Hi Carol! I love anything buffalo checked too. I found the sweater weather pillow, acorn and a checked leaf plate at Hobby Lobby. The pumpkins came from the dollarspot at Target. The Farmers Market mug was at Big Lots. I purchased everything this year so you should be able to find them. Happy shopping!
Super cute! I love how you change it up for the seasons!
