All in the Family (Decorating for Fall)

Since I am late with my decorating for fall, I didn’t want to wait to share some amazing ideas with you! They are not mine but they come from those who have inspired me over the years. Although they do not have the same sort of fall as I do here in Colorado, my OLDER sisters are very much in the spirit in their Arizona homes. They are way ahead of me!

Do you know how much fun it is for me to refer to them as my older sisters??? Let me tell you…it is sooooo much fun! I guess maybe it is my version of payback time! After all the years of watching them go off on dates, fun outings with friends. Drive away in their own cars! I was incredibly jealous! Weddings, babies, and now grandkids! I guess maybe I’m still incredibly jealous! So….I think I should be able to have a bit of fun with the whole age thing, don’t you? To be honest, there are very few years between us so I really need to just be quiet now I guess!

Diane’s Phoenix Home

I will start with my sister, Diane. That smile is because she is holding her very first grandchild. He is just the cutest! Diane is a fall fanatic like me. I asked her awhile ago if she would be decorating for the season. Her reply…”I may put a few little things out.” I, of course, knew better! So I waited patiently and finally the pictures started coming. I would love for you to come along with me while we see the few little things she’s put out in her beautiful Arizona home.

She always does the most amazing job with her tiered trays! I have a few of those things for mine. I don’t, however, have that adorable pumpkin spice pillow! Why don’t I have that pillow??? She’s usually pretty good about telling me when she finds something new. I do love her fillable lamp and candle holders too.

The baker’s rack is the very essence of the season and the centerpiece on the kitchen table makes it such an inviting spot for a pumpkin spice latte. Put it all together and the kitchen becomes a warm and cozy haven.

She also passed along her obsession….oops….her love of lanterns to me. Lanterns are such a great decorating tool. This one is filled with pumpkins and a string of mini lights. The large vase of eucalyptus makes a perfect backdrop and together with the lantern makes a great corner display.

Fall Lanterns

The Dining table holds another lantern with a candle, a pip berry ring and a simple bow. Centered on the table with pumpkins and green spiked plants on either side, it is a gorgeous focal point for the room.

I absolutely love the way she’s done the accent tables in her family room this year. So many pretty things!

I’d say Diane is more than ready for fall! Oh…maybe I should share just a few more little things she’s put out before we move on…

Debbie’s Chandler Condo

My sister Debbie is a Grandma six times over. Poor little Nolan is the only little boy in the bunch! I’m confidant though that he can more than hold his own in any situation! Debbie is crazy about Halloween. That becomes a big part of her decor this time of year. Her home in Virginia has a lot of land for her to create the ultimate Haunted Halloween Home. But right now she is at her Chandler, Arizona condo so space is a little more limited but she didn’t let that stop her! My OLDEST OLDER sister did an amazing job with her space. Love what she did with her antique buffet!

Love the mantle too (especially the picture of all the Grandkids!). Just FYI…the tallest one, holding her little sister is Madalyn. When the pandemic started she was a senior in high school. I asked her to write a post on this blog from her perspective when everything in her world came crashing down with the virus. She did a guest post for me and depending on how long you’ve been a member you might have read it. She got through that awful senior year and has moved on to bigger and better things! So proud of this beautiful girl!

I’m in love with the way this cupboard is decorated! A little bit spooky but just so fun! The accents throughout the condo, although most are new, blend perfectly with all her antiques.

Without the space of her home in Virginia, Debbie still managed to bring in the spirit of the season. Little touches here and there make such a difference. When you look around, if you see less house and more home, you’ve nailed it. Although quite different, I think both of these homes more than accomplish that! Oh! I almost forgot to post Debbie’s cute tiered tray. Well of course she has one! She’s my sister!

From Fall to Halloween

Love the lights! So pretty! I did ask her to try a Halloween one too. She did and…

ADORABLE! Be sure to check out my latest post Fall Tiered Tray Ideas for more inspiration.
