How to Create a Rich, Fall, Feel With Wood

When we think of autumn, our minds conjure up the image of beautiful trees dressed in the vibrant colors of the season. But the leaves seem to be the only thing we notice. The truth is, that tree has so much more to offer! So come along and I will show you just how easy it is to create a rich, fall, feel adding wood to your decor.

I love the look of a polished wood table. It definitely brings a warmth to the room. On the other hand, a rough distressed finish on a wooden crate does the same thing. The common denominator is, of course, the wood itself. Wood brings with it a richness beyond compare.

Wooden Crates for a Vintage Vibe

If you are a thrifter, you probably have an old crate laying around somewhere. Find it! They make such a gorgeous fall accessory.

Fill it with leaves and pumpkins that coordinate with your decor.

Roll up your favorite fall throw and place it near a couch or chair for a homespun look.

Decorate a small crate for a table top.

Fall Dough Bowl Decor

Dough Bowls have long been a staple in farmhouse decor. Dressed up for autumn however, they can bring a warmth to any decorating style.

There are so many fun ways to decorate a dough bowl. Fall branches and pumpkins are really all you need.

Add a seasonal sign and they will look amazing on a Thanksgiving table too!

Wood Risers, Trays, and Bowls

A wooden riser adds a richness to any fall display.

Trays are always a great way to add a bit of wood to your decor. There are so many choices with size, shape, color, and finishes. Finding one that works in any home is easy as pumpkin pie. This pretty Farmhouse style tray is gorgeous in my sister’s neutral living room!

Decorate your tray with colors that work for you and your style.

Try adding a fall floral display to your favorite wooden bowl.

Knit pumpkins look so pretty as well!

I love the mix of colors and textures in this pretty rustic footed bowl!

Woodsy Elements

Adding woodsy elements like the bird below is another way to bring that richness into your home this season.

A woodchip pumpkin will work well too.

This little guy and the pumpkin he’s standing on are made of resin to look like wood. Shhhh…no one will know the difference!

Fall Tiered Trays

It’s no surprise that a wooden tiered tray is my favorite choice to bring a woodsy feel into the kitchen. (Be sure to check out the post, Fabulous. Fall, Vibes in the Kitchen for more ideas! )

Paired with a wooden pumpkin and some fall leaves on a wood riser… it really captures that richness.

The Christmas season will be here soon enough. For the moment, I will feel thankful, grateful, and blessed to enjoy what’s left of this beautiful time of year!
