How to Decorate a Blanket Ladder (Through the Season Series)

Don’t you just love a decor piece that can move from season to season? A piece that with a few simple changes becomes a new decoration with every change of the weather? Me too! Today I’m focusing on one of my favorites as I show you How to Decorate a Blanket Ladder through the seasons!

Blanket ladders are such a versatile decorating tool. Not only are they useful but they can be so pretty too! They are great in a bedroom holding warm blankets in case your guests need an extra. Perfect for a bathroom with little space for towels. I have used mine for both in the the past. However, while there’s something to be said for usefulness, my blanket ladder has become a most treasured seasonal decoration instead.

Spring Designs to Make You Smile

One of my favorite ways to decorate a ladder is to display a pretty wreath– especially in the springtime. I made the beaded wreath with my ladder in mind just last year. ( Click here for the tutorial) Spring is the time to bring in some greenery and the soft pastel colors of the season.

Of course I will add a blanket or two but that is really secondary when I’m using the ladder as a decoration. Tying on spring elements here and there is really my focus.

Sailing into Summer

Summer always seems to bring a continuous round of guests to My Home of All Seasons. The weather is gorgeous, the mountains are breathtaking, and hiking in the Rockies is in full swing. This time of year, I move the ladder to the guest room. I give it a coastal vibe to match the room but its main purpose is to hold a light blanket for summer nights on the guest patio.

When guests are not in-house, it blends in perfectly with my summer coastal decor.

Autumn Vibes

Putting together my blanket ladder for the fall season is always a challenge for me. There are just so many pretty elements to consider for this season. Every year I think I couldn’t possibly love it more than I did the year before but in the end, I always do.

Fall leaves, printables, or a cute little scarecrow are all perfect accents for this season.

With the light fading earlier each day, adding a pretty lantern is always an eye catcher.

Deck the Ladder?

Decking out My Home of All Seasons for Christmas is a full month that starts in early November. I hate to admit it but as hard as I try, I do tend to go a little overboard each year. Hard to believe, I know! With space at a premium, (Christmas trees galore), my ladder allows me to display some of my favorite decorations without taking up too much room. There is never any shortage of ways I can go for the Christmas season!

Little changes through the years makes this treasured ladder feel like a brand new decoration!

It’s Still Winter!

Unfortunately, winter is still hanging on! At the moment, the house is a transitioning mess. This year’s spring ladder design is still in the works so I will leave you with one last look at winter here!
