With the Thanksgiving holiday approaching fast, here’s an easy Thankful banner you can assemble in less than 10 minutes.
I love Thanksgiving! Such a beautiful day filled with food, family, and friends. It’s also a day to think about everything in our lives that we have to be thankful for.
Some families verbalize it. They go around the table stating their thankfulness. We are not that family and adding a new tradition at this late date would not go over well. So instead, I will hang this pretty banner, front and center, as a not so subtle reminder of what the day is about. I’m sharing it with you today in case you need to give your loved ones a tiny little push too!
Thankful Banner Supply List
- Banner Prints (see below)
- Bakers twine or jute
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- Tape measure
Step 1
Gather all supplies. Print letter sheets below. Click on each one to print. No password is needed here.
Letter Sheets
Step 2
Cut out banner pieces. I left the black line on the right side to give the impression of depth.
Step 3
Punch a hole in the center near the top of each letter.
Step 4
Cut your twine to whatever length you would like your banner to be. Tie a slip knot to one end and begin adding your letters. Poke your twine through the back of the letter, slide it down towards your slip knot, and knot it in place.
Step 5
Once you’ve determined the final length , add and knot your letters accordingly. I think leaving 2 to 3 inches between each one will look the best. When all your letters are knotted in place, add a final slip knot to the open end.
Now all that’s left to do is to find the perfect place to hang it! I thought it would look nice strung in front of the dining room hutch or above the entry table… both good options. But in the end I decided to hang it above the fireplace in the family room.
The family room is where everyone will gather before dinner on Thanksgiving Day. I love watching all the conversations and the laughter from my spot in the adjoining kitchen. It warms my heart and I know I will see the banner and think how incredibly thankful I really am. Who knows… maybe it will resonate with one or all. Maybe they will feel the same thankfulness that I do when I sit down and look around the table. Thankful, grateful, and incredibly Blessed!
