Simple Autumn Ladder Update

I’m aware that I am beginning to sound like a broken record but… this really is the favorite decorating tool in my arsenal! It never ceases to amaze me what an impact a plain old blanket ladder can have on a room. Taking up little space, it packs such a punch in seasonal decor. Placed in an unused corner, it can bring a bit of the new season into focus. This simple autumn ladder update will show you exactly why it’s my most treasured possession.

I have always been a fan of black and white buffalo checked decor. You’ll find it everywhere in my kitchen. This year, however, I decided to carry it over to the family room as well. Since the family room will hold my ladder, I started things off with a cozy black and white throw.

Next, I added a few coordinating seasonal signs. A pretty ribbon brings in some fall colors as well.

In keeping with the autumn vibe, I also added a favorite scarecrow and of course a pumpkin. My simple autumn ladder update is almost complete!

Lanterns are a fun addition and I use them often in my seasonal ladder decor. Tied on with a black and white bow, it looks so pretty in the evening light.

The crowning touch this year is a swag of fall leaves bringing some color to the top of the ladder.

Although relegated to a corner of the room, the height of the ladder alone makes it a focal point. But it is the accents, colors, and character that will make it a fall favorite in my home.
