The Many Ways to Style a Spring Accent Table

The arrival of the new season means it is time to give your home a springtime refresh. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the many ways to style a spring accent table.

I love the birth of a new season, don’t you? It’s always so exciting seeing the first changes that show up outdoors. It’s as if they know it’s time to validate the calendar on the wall. Even here in Colorado where the winter snow refuses to leave, there are signs of the coming spring.

I see it everyday now. Through the snow on the branches, I see the leaves beginning to bud on the trees outside my window. As each snowfall melts away, the grass becomes a little greener and it’s just a matter of weeks before the birds start building their nests. All these things are the inspiration needed for a spring refresh inside.

One of the easiest places to start is by adding springtime elements to a pretty table. A focal point piece like an entry table, sofa table, or a console can hold several items that celebrate the season. Whereas a smaller side table may need nothing more than your favorite spring print.

Bringing Spring to the Entry

Since my focus has always been on creating a seasonal home, it’s important to me that you feel it the minute you pass through the front door. My entry table is paramount to ensuring that you do. It’s quite large and can hold several elements without appearing too busy.

Add a Spring Runner

A spring look always begins with bringing some color to the mix. In my post, Easing into Spring with a Little Bit of Color, you’ll see how many great options there are this time of year. Even in a house that favors a neutral farmhouse decor, a little bit of color goes hand in hand with spring. Adding a simple spring runner is a great base to build on.

Shades of pink are my chosen color palette for the season so I used a runner that coordinates well with the decor throughout the house. I’ve linked it below along with some others that might work better with your color scheme.

Flowering Spring Branches

Another easy way to add a pop of color is with a floral display. Flowering spring branches in a pretty container are perfect on a large table. Since faux branches can be quite expensive, I used one bundle and filled it in with twigs from the yard.

Springtime Sofa Table

A sofa table or a large console is also a great place to add a little springtime to your room. My table can be seen from the kitchen, family room, and the entry as well. Styling this table for each season is one of my favorite things to do.

Add a Few Spring Elements

A favorite bunny, bird, or nest is a great addition to any spring table. However, a larger table will allow you to get creative with several elements together.

Gotta Have Green!

It’s also the perfect place to add some greenery to welcome in the season. A topiary, potted plant, or just a few sprays here and there pack such a punch. I used a pretty square wooden bowl to display some moss balls for a little burst of green. Since my table can be seen from my black and white buffalo checked kitchen, I added in some coordinating eggs.

Decorate a Spring Basket

For a larger table, adding a basket of spring elements will quickly bring the table into the season. A pillow, throw, and a spray or two will be all you need.

A few cute little bunnies work too!

Coffee Table Refresh

Coffee tables are another great place to add some spring inspiration. Sitting lower than a console, the height of your elements is a factor. This is a great place to use a tray as it can easily be moved for movie nights or conversation.

Bring in the flowers!

Whether faux or real, flowers are a must in the springtime. As part of a pretty vignette, they bring the perfect pop of color. I chose some vibrant tulips to coordinate with the rest of the room. The only thing missing in this arrangement is the sweet aroma!

Create a Vignette on a Tray

Speaking of vignettes, mixing and matching springtime elements makes for an interesting visual.

Add a Touch of Spring to an Everyday Item

Refreshing a table for spring does not always involve removing the items that are already in place. Very often with a tiny little change, you can bring it right into the season. Replacing a candle with a tiny green plant was all I needed here.

A Touch of Spring for a Side Table

Side tables or end tables are normally quite small and usually have a very defined purpose. It may be meant to hold the perfect reading light, provide a place to set down a drink, or a convenient spot for remotes or books. With that in mind, the last thing you’ll want to do is fill it up with unnecessary items. Still, a little touch of spring won’t hurt a thing!

Add a Spring Scent

A big part of a spring refresh is to engage the sense of smell in your decor. Whether you favor a pretty spring candle or an essential oil diffuser, adding a springtime scent is so important. The side table or end table is a perfect place for either.

I am a big fan of both. I love the ambiance that a candle provides and I use them often. However, I do see the benefit of diffusing a spring mix as well. You can find some of my favorite blends in my post Essential Oil Blends for the Seasons.

Showcase a Favorite Spring Printable

A side/end table is a great place to display your favorite spring printable. In a pretty frame, it can convey the very essence of the season while taking up little valuable space.

I have added several spring printables to the Printable Library this year. Always free to subscribers, simply add your password where prompted, then download and print. The link above will take you where you need to go!
