Valentine’s Day Printables/DIY Projects

With February right around the corner, I’m thinking about the Valentine’s Day holiday. I have never done much decorating for the day itself. It’s not that I don’t like it… I do! It’s just the timing. This time of year, having just packed away Christmas and with my winter decor completed, I’m never in the mood to change things so soon. But this year, it just feels right! I mean, who couldn’t use more love in their life right now??? I think we all could so that is my focus this week. As always, I will start with some Valentine’s Day printables.

Love is Patient

I know that I am planning on doing a vintage style vignette this year so I wanted to make a printable that will fit in. There are so many versions of Corinthians 13: 4-8; so many interpretations. It is such an important lesson that takes most of us a long time to learn. With that in mind, I decided having it front and center in my home couldn’t possibly hurt!

All You Need is Love

Love is such a pretty word. Of course, the definition is beautiful, but I’m talking about visually. The written word– Love — is just pretty! I’ve highlighted the word itself in all my Valentine’s Day printables because I love the way it looks! My favorite Beatle’s song has always been “All you need is love.” Of course that’s really not true in the literal sense but deep down I want it to be!

Love Makes the Ride Worthwhile

This quote rings a little more true! Love doesn’t pay the bills. It doesn’t put food on the table. For some, those things are not a concern. Those who have so much that worries are few and far between. But without love, the ride of success would be quite hollow I think.

Heart Printable for DIY Tiered Tray Banner

The last two Valentine’s Day printables I made were for a few projects I wanted to do for the holiday. I knew I would be converting my tiered tray to reflect the holiday soon and I wanted to have a little heart banner to add to my design

These little hearts are meant to cut out for a small banner or garland. I wanted something simple to use as part of my tiered tray design. You need very few supplies and it will take less than 10 minutes to complete. I always use card stock for my paper projects as it’s so much easier to work with. A thicker paper keeps things from creasing too easily as well.

Supplies

  • Heart Printable
  • Pink twine
  • Mini pom poms
  • Single hole punch
  • Scissors
  • Glue gun/pen

Instructions

Cut out each heart. Using the hole punch, poke a hole in the left hand corner of each one. Cut a 24 inch piece of twine. Tie a 2 inch loop at one end and knot. Slide a heart onto the twine to meet the knot. Tie another knot in front of the heart. Move down the twine 3 inches and tie another knot. Add a heart, tie a knot in front. Continue this until all the hearts have been attached with the twine. Glue a pom pom over the knot in front of each heart. Finish with another 2 inch loop.

Farmhouse Valentine Printable/DIY

I also wanted to add a little bit of a farmhouse vibe to the kitchen. This Valentine’s Day printable was created with that in mind. Using a frame without glass gives me more of the shadow box look I was hoping for. To make it more dimensional I added a buffalo checked heart and a little bit of moss under the cow. That’s it! But it’s pretty cute I think. Obviously, this one required no detailed instructions! I used several more of the checked hearts in my Valentine kitchen decor. You can see them in the post A Kitchen Full of Love on the blog.

I bought a multi-pack of the frames similar to those linked below since printable art is such a big part of my seasonal decor. There are several times when I like to add something extra and need more of a shadow box look. These frames are deep enough to provide that.

Each of the printables are free for members to download and print. You will find them in the Printable Library. Simply click on your choice, enter your password, and print away! Each will print as an 8 x 10 without the frames that I’ve used for display purposes above. If you haven’t yet subscribed, I hope you will! Enter your email below, confirm your subscription, and a welcome email with your password will be in your inbox in minutes!

See you soon!
