Welcome! I’m so glad you decided to stop by today! My home is decked out for the new fall season and I’ve been hoping for a visit! So please come in, grab a glass of wine, and let the 2021 Welcome Fall Home Tour begin!
Autumn Welcome
The autumn vibe starts right here in the entry. Candles in traditional fall colors give a warm welcome. Autumn flowers arranged in a vintage pheasant pail add a country feel to the mix.
Although my home has a harvest theme, I did set up a spot just inside the door for broomstick parking! It’s very convenient when I come home at night!
Shades of Brown in the Living Room
The formal living room has very much stayed the same as last year. Given that this room is not used very often, I didn’t feel the need to go all out. However, the chocolate wall does give me the chance to use some of the neutral decor that has no place in the other rooms of the house. I included this room in the fall home tour for that reason.
I am just in love with the mercury glass pumpkin on this table. So pretty when it turns on each evening!
This is the absolute only room in the house where brown accents actually work and I really do love them! From this point on, however, the traditional fall shades of orange, gold, and burgundy take over.
The Colors of Fall in the Dining Room
The formal dining room is bursting with color. The china cabinet is full of all my favorite serving dishes in the many colors of fall. When the cabinet is lit, they look so vibrant there!
I use my dough bowl for many different displays through the year. Today I gave it a Eucalyptus base with velvet pumpkins of various shades of orange. Mixed in with the velvet is a chipped wood pumpkin and a resin white one. The different textures make it so much more interesting to the eye. Since the birch candles on the table already give it a woodsy vibe, I added a few woodland birds and pine cones to finish it off.
In addition, I placed a cornucopia on the corner table. It’s quite large but seems to fit in nicely here.
The fall basket that I made for the door last year works here as well. It was as simple as can be. Check it out here.
All in all, the dining room has a definite warmth and a welcoming feel.
Autumn Hallway Decor and Fall Staircase Refresh
The hall table was home to the the first Harvest Tree I made. It now is part of my daughter’s cute apartment decorations and I have since made a new one. It also holds my favorite lantern this year.
The staircase was a hit at last year’s fall home tour. Adding a mesh garland, berries, and wheat bundles gives it a much needed seasonal refresh. The tutorial for the garland is still up on the blog. You can check it out right here. So easy!
Autumn Kitchen Redo
The kitchen is always a favorite stop on the fall home tour. Being the heart of the home, it is where I concentrate most of my decorations. It was also my starting point for this year’s redo. I consider the coffee bar the most important place in this room! It is always such a fun thing to change with the seasons.
Tiered trays and baskets are also a favorite of mine and I put several to use in the fall. Filled with pumpkins and gourds, the tiered fruit bowl really brings the season to the kitchen.
Although quite old, I never tire of my kitchen wreath. The blessed tag reminds me what the season is all about.
I found this adorable “Dance in the kitchen” sign earlier this year and I knew I had to have it! I felt it was small enough that perhaps my husband wouldn’t notice it. Those who have read the Signs of the Seasons posts in the past know that he and I do not see eye to eye on the use of signs in my decor. Of course he did see it, and now it’s definitely become a thing. It doesn’t matter if I’m holding a hot cup of coffee, doing dishes, or just passing through, we are DANCING! That might be nice if I didn’t know that it is clearly an attempt to annoy me.
Years ago, I designated one of my smaller Christmas trees for a fall accent here. I still use it today and it adds so much to the room.
I will utilize the top of the cabinets straight through Christmas. Mostly older things that I haven’t been able to part with quite yet.
The black and white theme started here and shows no signs of retiring. Especially when I see it in every home decor store I visit. It’s impossible not to add more! Because of that, it seems to be spreading to other rooms of the house!
Cozy Fall Family Room
The sofa table is what separates this room from the kitchen and the checks start right here with little touches added throughout the room.
Although we are hoping for mild temperatures through the season, once we no longer have the option to be outdoors, this room becomes our “go to.” So cozy is important here. The focal point above the fireplace goes a long way towards bringing that feeling to the room.
Fall throws and pillows are more than just pretty here. They are used often on the brisk fall nights that will be here soon.
Touches of the season on the tables in the room bring the warmth I’m set on conveying to our family and friends.
The bears are participating again this year and they always make me smile!
Meanwhile, Downstairs at the Beach…
The fall home tour continues on the lower level. If you came to visit during the summer tour, you might wonder where all the coastal accents have disappeared to. When fall arrives at My Home of All Seasons, there is still a place for the things I love most. I simply move them to the lower level and mix a few fall elements among them.
I often think how glad I am that we do love the coastal look. Otherwise, where in the world would we put Flipper?
Coastal Family Room
This time of year, the fireplace here gets a workout for sure. It is always quite a bit cooler on the lower level than upstairs. So it is definitely a focal point for me! I am cold when it’s 70 degrees outside so I made sure it is pretty to look at and comfy to sit by. When I’m working downstairs, I spend quite a bit of time sitting on that faux fur rug as close as I can get!
In keeping with the coastal vibe, I wanted the centerpiece above the fireplace to project that feel as well. The bronze whale statue is a constant here so I added some royal blue to the muted colors in the arrangement. The color scheme in this part of the house is quite different then the upstairs rooms.
The seagrass in the ceramic vase is also always here so I simply added a few cat tails to bring it into the season.
This family room is adjacent to the guest room so I make sure it is always decorated for whatever the season is. I used one of my favorite coastal printables on the coffee table here as a welcome. A vase with fall leaves in neutral colors looks so pretty next to a light up mercury glass pumpkin. An arrangement of pumpkins in shades of the sea finishes off the table.
I’ve mixed some fall accents among the normal decor on the sofa table as well. Purple, green, and aqua pumpkins are the choice here.
I was so excited to find these pretty pumpkins that I bought several to use downstairs. The colors are perfect!
Autumn Accents to the Bar Area
I added a few to the bar area mixed in among the sea life statues and pictures.
I did bring in some gold to mix in with the nautical theme on the windowsill. Just a little bit of traditional fall color for contrast.
The covered poker table has a traditional fall centerpiece as well. The whale tail sculpture is a favorite piece and is displayed somewhere in the house all year long.
Fall Updates to the Guest Room
My fall home tour just wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the beach! The guest room here was Katie’s bedroom in her teen years. Even all those years ago her love of the ocean was as intense as our own. We decorated her room to reflect that love with white wicker furniture, an abundance of blue, and the beach outside in her window well. It was easier to purchase new furniture when she moved to San Diego than move it all so the wicker remains. As does the beach. She still loves her room and our guests seem to agree.
This room was updated during the lockdown last year with new linens and lamps so all it really needed was a little spritz of fall!
The downstairs patio is in the middle of a fall refresh too but we are not quite there yet!. I hope I can share it with you soon! The front porch, however, is finished and up on the blog! See it here.
As a final touch and to keep things coastal, I added a beachy wallpaper to the TV. It is the pier at Huntington Beach which has long been our happy place. At some point we will frame the TV here, but at the moment it serves its purpose as is.
I’m so glad you came to visit today and I hope you’ll stop by again soon! Be sure to check out the Create the Look links throughout this post if something catches your eye. The page is dedicated to helping you create a similar look in your own home.

Thank you Linda! Decorating for fall is always such fun. I’m so glad you stopped by. Have a beautiful day!
How fun to have a chocolate colored room. This is one of my favorite colors. I enjoyed your tour and seeing so much of the home. The dining room is stunning, and the china cabinet lit up to show off all the fall décor is a big wow factor.
Fun tour!

Thanks so much for coming by Rachelle. I love my chocolate wall too but hubby says it will be the first thing we need to paint when we get ready to sell. I suppose he’s right but it’s my favorite!
It all looks so nice. Love the glass pumpkin and the lighted lantern…oh, the coastal decor too!! Thanks so much for linking up at the Unlimited Link Party 35. Pinned!
Thanks Dee!I knew the coastal decor downstairs would catch your eye! The beach is the happy place for both of us!
Your home looks lovely all decked out for fall. You have so many cute accessories. Thanks for sharing at Love Your Creativity.
Thanks so much Linda! Have a great week!
Denise, your home is absolutely beautiful. I love all your fall decorations and the mixing in of everyday objects with it. I love the bannister. That has always been my biggest wish to have a stairway to decorate, especially for Christmas. My little old Victorian Cottage looks as though she might have one from the outside, but she does not. We were always going to go up as the attic is as big as the living spaces but we never did and now it would be something left to the young ones, but I am always thrilled to see one done so beautifully as yours. Thank you so much for your visit to me. I always leave my thank you’s under each comment at the end of my post.. Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy
Thanks so much for your kind words Judy! I do love decorating the staircase but I am really ready to be done with stairs altogether. I wish we had had the foresight to buy a ranch style home all those years ago and I would be thrilled to have your lovely place! Ours is a 2 story with a walkout which means everywhere I go inside or out always involves stairs! This house is meant for the young ones too! Thank you again for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend ahead!
Wow, your home looks so festive and inviting! I’ve never thought to put fall garland on my stair railing and I love that idea! Hoping to find some on my next shopping trip. Thank you for sharing your tour with us on Farmhouse Friday! Hope you link up again. Happy Fall!
Thank you Cindy! I’m so glad you stopped by and I am looking forward to Farmhouse Friday this week. Have a great day!
