Covid has affected us all in one way or another. I would like to be writing about something as trivial as how to organize your junk drawer. I am trying very hard to keep a good balance on a blog that was meant to show you just that.
Continue readingClass of 2020
My heart goes out to the graduates this year. I am hoping for a miracle. A miracle that allows life to return to normal soon. A miracle, so that the Class of 2020 will get to go to their Senior Prom, so they can walk across the stage in front of all their classmates with an audience full of family members cheering on their achievements.
Continue readingEaster Scavenger Hunt
This year Easter will be very different for all of us. Although I no longer have little ones at home, I’m well aware that so many things will change for those who do. With social distancing rules extended to the end of April, community Easter egg hunts are out of the question. In addition, big family gatherings at Grandma’s house will also remain off limits. I put together this Easter Scavenger Hunt with hopes that it might help you make the day as special as possible.
Continue readingUpdating the Kitchen
It’s been a few years now since we finally got around to updating the kitchen. Looking through all the Throwback Thursday posts on Facebook, I decided to share one of my own right here.
Continue readingEaster Tablescapes
I have had this post planned for quite awhile. The perfect Easter tablescape is such an important part of making your holiday special. A beautiful table sets the tone for a wonderful celebration. However, given what we are all facing this year, we have no plans for a traditional Easter celebration at my house. Still, I decided to go ahead and post it anyways.

Continue readingA millennial’s point of view
I just wanted to share this facebook post from my daughter. She is currently living in San Diego, California which has issued a statewide “stay at home” order. It is a relief to me that she is taking this seriously and realizes no one is exempt.
Continue readingFighting Boredom

In these days of social distancing it can be hard to fill those hours that were normally spent with coworkers, family, and friends. Depending on your age group, your household, and your energy level…finding ways to amuse yourself or your kids can be a daunting task. I’ve compiled a list of ways to fight boredom while implementing the practices we are told are necessary. Maybe there is something here to help you find new ideas to fight the boredom taking hold at your house today.
Continue readingWelcome Spring
It’s here! Welcome Spring! I had to look at the calendar though just to be sure! This is the view outside my window today!
Continue readingSpring Staircase
Two more days! Spring arrives in TWO more days! I really can’t wait this year. I do love my seasons but my spring cleaning is done, the grass is getting green, and I am ready for warmer weather. Unfortunately it looks like I will have to wait awhile longer for that last part. That terrible weatherman just said 6-8 inches of snow on Thursday! But it’s gorgeous today and I am forging ahead with my spring decorating despite the forecast. Right now I am working on my spring staircase.
