The date on my calendar says it’s spring! The mounds of snow outside begs to differ! But the very fact that it’s still light outside at 6:00 pm makes me side with the calendar this time.

With spring finally here and Easter right around the corner, I am still in my decorating mode. My 2021 Spring Home Tour is up on the blog but I still see changes I want to make. With that in mind, I have added some additional spring prints to the library. A few favorites from last year and a few I created while watching the snow fall last weekend.

Finally! It’s the first day of spring! It certainly seemed to take forever to get here this year! The snow storm we had last week was a reminder just how crazy springtime in the Rockies really is! One day it’s 70 degrees outside and the next there is two feet of snow! But today it’s a balmy 62 so I’ll take it! Of course, it is supposed to snow again tomorrow but I’m living for today! Tiered trays are a great way to add a little seasonal decor to your home. They take up little space, can easily be moved, but automatically draw the eye.

With winter on its way out, I thought I needed a refresh for the coffee/ hot chocolate bar. I am convinced I will no longer be needing hot cocoa to keep me warm! What’s that old saying? The one about hope springs eternal? I have lived in Colorado long enough to know that although we have 70’s in the forecast this week, a foot of snow may be right around the corner! But… I am feeling optimistic so I’m going ahead with my plans! Putting together a springtime coffee bar is exactly what I need to welcome the new season to my kitchen!

In a few short weeks, spring will be in full swing! With that in mind, I am working towards creating a home that will welcome the new season at every turn. Like most homes, the family room/kitchen area is the main gathering place for everyone. The main focal point for either room is what we consider the mantel since it is the space above the built in fireplace.

While I was putting together my spring cleaning checklist this year, I found myself thinking it would be so nice if I could do some spring cleaning within myself and not just my home.
