For those of you who follow the blog, you know My Home of All Seasons is here in Colorado. While I wasn’t born and raised here, it has been my home since 1982. I do not have the “native” bumper sticker with the mountains in the background on my car. I list Ohio as my birthplace on all paperwork. But both my children were born here and to me, it is most definitely Home.

While I was putting together my spring cleaning checklist this year, I found myself thinking it would be so nice if I could do some spring cleaning within myself and not just my home.
Continue reading “Spring Cleaning Heart and Mind”A Walk around Coronado Island
Among the things that scare me, at the top of my list are bridges. I’ve always hated them and it seems to get worse the older I get. However, I refuse to let that fear keep me from the places I want to go. This morning I wanted more than anything to take a walk around Coronado.

Thank you to all the people who came up with the memes that brought a moment of laughter to so many during such an awful time. Those silly little memes that gave a frontline worker a tiny reprieve from the endless suffering they have witnessed. Maybe reminded someone who was alone that others were out there feeling the same things. We will be forever grateful! Here are some of my favorites:

Mother’s day is always such a wonderful time! But I know…this is a strange one to say the least. If you do not live with your mom, this will be a hard one to take. As a daughter, I miss my mother who left us several years ago, every single day. As a mom, I miss my child who no longer lives nearby just as much. I am, however, incredibly blessed to have one of my children right here with me. So many moms will be alone this year.

Although the stay at home orders are being relaxed in so many places, social distancing is still very much encouraged. It is looking like we will need to find ways to amuse ourselves awhile longer. Ok be honest…who hasn’t said this at least 10 times in the last 2 weeks??? Just FYI- they miss you too. When I called my stylist to ask her if she would be willing to write the following guest post, she told me that this has been the hardest time of her career. She explained to me that for years her days have been spent talking with people and building relationships and then one day it just ended. Abruptly to say the least! They joined the ranks of the unemployed and immediately lost all contact with so many people all at once. So yes…they miss us too.
Continue reading20 productive things to do while social distancing
While it might be different in your part of the world, here, we are still in a complete quarantine phase. What constitutes productive may be up for debate by some but I think doing anything that gives you some semblance of normal fits the bill!
Continue readingA great big THANK YOU to our Essential Workers
I’m guessing right now every one of us has someone in our lives who is considered an “essential worker.” There are several in mine. I am proud of them, I am scared for them, and I am so incredibly grateful to them all!
I created this printable simply to say thank you. Thank you to the doctors and nurses, and hospital workers. Thank you to our first responders, the grocery store workers, delivery people, and the countless others who are working so hard to take care of all of us.
Continue readingAromatherapy for stress relief
Have you ever noticed how easily scents can change your mood? The sense of smell is widely considered the most powerful sense we humans possess. The dogs really have nothing on us! The scent of a certain flower can bring back memories long forgotten. Sauce simmering on the stovetop can trigger hunger. The scent of pine can transport us into the future with anticipation of the coming holidays. Realizing this, Essential Oil diffusers have become a must have in every household. As a result, Aromatherapy is finally getting the kudos it has long deserved.
