Spring on Demand – Designing a Spring Vignette

We are late bloomers here in Colorado.  Literally.  For that reason , I tend to use a lot of faux flowers in my decor this time of year.  I’m more than ready for spring to arrive but the weather outside screams winter!  To compensate, I will light my favorite spring scented candle ( Flower Shop and you will swear you are inside one! ) and bring out all the pretty faux blossoms and greenery I can find. Spring on demand so to speak!

Creating a Springtime Coffee Bar

With winter on its way out,  I thought I needed a refresh for the coffee/ hot chocolate bar. I am convinced I will no longer be needing hot cocoa to keep me warm! What’s that old saying? The one about hope springs eternal? I have lived in Colorado long enough to know that although we have 70’s in the forecast this week, a foot of snow may be right around the corner! But… I am feeling optimistic so I’m going ahead with my plans!  Putting together a springtime coffee bar is exactly what I need to welcome the new season to my kitchen!

How to Put Together Your Spring Focal Point

In a few short weeks, spring will be in full swing!  With that in mind, I am working towards creating a home that will welcome the new season at every turn. Like most homes, the family room/kitchen area is the main gathering place for everyone. The main focal point for either room is what we consider the mantel since it is the space above the built in fireplace.

Welcome Hummingbirds!

The arrival of the hummingbirds each spring is such a wonderful sign of the new season! I always make sure to put my feeder out early enough to catch the eye of the very first migrator passing through. I tell them every October when I put the feeder away to just text me their arrival date next year! Of course, they never listen! So the guesswork begins and eventually I catch their fluttering outside my kitchen window. Welcome hummingbirds!
